Yeah, but it's 11 years since we beat them in the top flight
    "Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins."
    "Homer Simpson, smiling politely."

Strange but not surprising. This is the FAI.

Anything is possible (btw the FAI have not confirmed they will be running the league in 2012)

I've been wondering about that recently. I think we have better players, but with the complete lack of organisation and confidence our players are showing at the moment I think we'd lose to just about anyone.

I didnt realise the original announcement from the fai was for a once off game well that puts that to rest.. any word from leeson this weather? I heard that he met up with the person that sacked him in the far east?
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Sacked him? That's one way of putting it!!

They were both on the same BBC radio programme. Leeson give him a "sincere apology".

    But does it?

Is there an official announcment or have Galway got this word unofficially?

Irrespective of what way the play-offs operate it could still prove to be the biggest play-off irrelevancy since Dundalk V Waterford in the IAG-gate farce of 2006.

We don't yet know if the FAI will operate the league next season, and if so how many teams in each division, whether there is a split in the premier after two series of games etc. Thats even before the usual licencing circus happens.

Thanks Mr Maroon - I had already read Trainee's post.

My question was if the information was announced officially in or a formal way or in the usual nod and wink style.

I barely have any trust in an official FAI announcement never mind a whisper over the phone.

It hasn't been on the LOI website or anything.

I think what you are trying to tell me is that ...............you don't know.

Thats fine, but if anyone knows how this was communicated to Galway or anyone esle by the FAI I would be interested in hearing.

    ( a tweet from Gilhooley maybe? )

I thought you meant had it been announced publicly, rather than directly to the clubs. It hasn't been as far as I can see.

I don't know exactly how the clubs were informed. Email presumably. It is official though.
