If anyone's not confident of beating Galway in a must-win game, you should probably stop bothering trying to be promoted now...

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.
Now to add more complication, do away goals come into play in the playoffs or will it go to extra time and penalties?
Traditionally they have not counted in playoffs.

Depends on who gets into the play offs and how many away goals Galway get.

Away goals rules don't exist in LOI football. Indeed the idea of goal difference didn't either, until 1994.Originally Posted by Jofspring

Ten Years Not Out
This 2 leg playoff format puts Galway Utd's plans in chaos now.The M.C had changed their focus from their heroic efforts in fundraising etc over the last few months to bringing out a shiny new Dvd in time for the playoff game. The Dvd Soundtrack was to be done by the Saw Doctors with their song "To Win Just Once" the aptly named title of the Dvd.
Seems strange though that they have announced a change from the original intention. I mean a one off game at home you'd always hope that no matter how bad we've been we could pull it off. Now it looks impossible tbh.
If the First Division team can't beat us over 2 legs then they don't deserve to go up.
Still the show goes on, and once we've a team to support next year is the main thing.

Obviously we don't deserve to stay up. We're one of the worst LOI teams of all time.
No Mr Maroon, we're THE worst LOI team of all time, as no ever team has ever lost 20 games on the bounce before. And Mypost, we're still celebrating that 1991 result down here - 20 years on, we've shag all else to be happy about. Though Aaron Greene's goal in Tallaght back in '09 brought a smile to my face, and the faces of those in Phibsboro!
"Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins."
"Homer Simpson, smiling politely."
