RTE are covering the UEFA super cup match between Porto & Barca next Friday Plenty of nice looking fixtures in the FAI cup that they could have covered but nooooo !! The Irish barstooler must be taken care of 1st.

It's disappointing alright that the game is not being covered. TV3 or 3e are the one's showing all the Europa League games...

They're contractually obliged to show the Champions League play offs (its part of the Champions league contract)

RTE have showed that game going back years.

RTE cherry pick their FAI Cup coverage, and while there may be a quarter-final on, they call the shots from the semi-final stage.

It dosnt make any difference what they have done in the past, and its not as if they are doing their viewers a huge favour by showing the match as it is been shown live across several TV channels that are freely available in this country.

As far as I know they'd already agreed to take the home leg and for Setanta to show the away leg. They couldn't really have assumed Rovers would still be in it for the return leg.

Should have showed it anyway, this is the only country that treats its league this way, I know its nothing new but its still frustrating

its more to do with RTE being able to make money from being the host broadcaster than anything

Whats the latest on the away game on Thurs?

I'm off to Spain and wouldn't mind watching this game if it's on live?

BTW I need an answer quick as I don't plan to be online while I'm there and I'm away in a few hrs

Setanta are showing the Hoops away Europa League qualifier live.

    Live broadcast from Stade Tourbillon.
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"

Think it's Celtic alright, cause their UK channel, Premier Sports is showing Celtic.

No Irish broadcaster showing a potentially historic game for LOI football.

However, Celtic and Rangers are still available to view again in this country. And if you're really lucky you might even get to watch Stoke and Spurs play elsewhere. Spurs might decide to play with 7 senior team players and make their game a semi-contest. And there's also exclusively live coverage of Birmingham's bid for Bucharest beginning next month. Mouth-watering stuff.
