    Ever hear such ****e

The Board of Drogheda United is delighted to announce that the full Irish Under-21 International team will play a friendly with Bulgaria in United Park on Tuesday 17th August. This match will be held the night before the Senior sides meet in Lansdowne Road - the last friendly before the World Cup qualifiers begin. This is surely recognition (if any is needed) of United's current status within the FAI and the Club's contribution on and off the field to the National Association.

Drogheda's stadium good enough for an under 21 match?? its a **** whole to say the least.

still bitter about the playoffs then? its not the first under 21 match to be played in drogheda and we always get good crowds and anyone who has been to drogheda this year will surely agree that the pitch is one of the best in the league at the moment

IMO the u-21 friendlies should played outside the pale as thats the only chance to have u-21 games in galway Cork etc... cos of the UEFA distance rule from senior international location.

Why not Drogheda? The last U21 International was in Galway if I remember correctly. I also seem to remember other games played in Kilkenny, and some small junior league club's ground as well (Not sure though). And I imagine that a lot more have been played outside of the "pale".

Anyway there'll be more in Drogheda for the game than the 2,000 that turned up in Terryland for it, last time round.
