Id have no problem with it not being done had people in the club not promised it would be done at this and that time in the papers and that so if its not you will have people thinking its just Limerick talking rubbish like years before. Not easy i know that too like.
Good that you are happy with the new plans id trust you on that kinda thing ha.
So with premier league football all but secured is there anybody getting a bit worried with the lack of work been done in the markets field was told tonight that there is a meeting next week that will give the club an idea were they stand.
What is the hold up? i just can't see the place been ready in time anyone thinking its looking like thomond park?
If it is not ready for the start of next season it will give a lot of people a terrible impression of where the club are going. It will be just another broken promise and start us off in the premier on the wrong foot.
I just can't see it been ready and if its not ready then what its prob thomond park or nothing what would the rent of that stadium be for the season big bucks id say.
The rent wouldn't be too expensive if a deal was done to just rent the terrace but by right us renting Thomond park should be needless.
Id say the club is facing a delema atm, do they go into the markets field now and build a crap fall down stadium which will be needing to be rebuilt in 10 years time or do they show ambition and build a stadium that wont need touching for 50/60 years and make Thomond/aviva look ancient when its built in a years time?
The first one.
They have come out and said they will be back there people are expecting to be back there for the premier if we get there and using Thomond Park would be a bloody joke being honest. Will be a disaster to start life in the premier with what people will see as just another broken promise from Limerick. I know its not in Limericks hands but a lot of people wont know that and i only just found out recently about it myself.
I thought the club bought the markets field with help from jp obvious Im wrong so who owns the ground since we can't seem to build anything without permission
The club never claimed to have bought the Market Field.
It was bought by the LEDP with money from JP McManus.
That's what was said in the papers at the time, and on a number of occassions since.
It was bought for the express purpose of providing a permanent home for Limerick FC, but it is not owned by Limerick FC. So rent will be paid for its use.
Fight the good fight!

Well I suppose they could say they have use of one stand. Would they actually have to put people in it?
Agree it would look ridiculous though. Even if by done miracle we got 4000-5000 it would still look poor enough.
At least Pat Dolan would be happy to see a 20,000+ stadium in the league.

Well lads, any progress at all? I'd be concerned for your chances of getting a license if ye haven't moved in in time for the new season. Delaney is just waitinf for a chance to stick the knife in again. Plus, no one up here wants to go back to Jackman Park ever again.
That is the big sticking point now. I would be amazed if contingency plans weren't ready in the event of a wait on the Markets Field (which seems likely).
What are the minimum requirements in regards stadia?
