Another delay, more POS promises up in smoke, and about to be outnumbered by away fans at home. You'll get some numbers for the first game, but then the defeats will see people not turn up, simple as. The club might act like the MF is the Holy Grail of this season, but its means much less to me now with relegation on the cards.
And I do believe we are still "borrowing" a home ground in the MF are we not?

Thats a terrible statement. The more the merrier i say.Big crowds means revenue for club.Opening game Limerick should gather all ex limerick players that are still alive who were the last team to play there and bring them onto pitch at ht.Be a nice gesture and maybe get them and their families back supporting the Blues.Just a thought that may pay dividends.Peoples thoughts on it?
Does any one know why they still are playing Saturday night football? Is it an FAI decision? Despite the fiasco at the start of this season i think we would be getting bigger crowds if the games were on Friday nights. When we were a mid table First Division team were were drawing 700+ on Friday nights. I have only managed 2 games this season so far,the most i've missed in over 10 years. What do the rest of ye think os Saturday night football?

Ya they are sticking with it. They had originally said Markets Field games would be a Saturday. Then when it turned out to be Jackman park they said they would stick to Saturday's to accommodate travelling support getting the trains down.
I'd agree with Oldskool, rarely dropped below that number but we were also winning games

Really? Barr the last few games in Jackman when we were on to win the league we were usually average around 550. On a very good night 600-700 and on a bad night 350-400.
Edit: 734 FD; 569 FD; 598 FD; 429 FD
They are our averages for 4 years in Jackman. The most recent one (734 FD) getting driven up because we had around 1,300 against Wexford Youths last game of the season.

Drogheda game announced at rovers match as the 5th which is a Friday ????
Some great updates on The Markets Field facebook page this week. Stand looks class with the precast fitted. Lights, dressing rooms etc look really high spec. This thread was started over 4 years ago. Thankfully our move home is within touching distance.
Some pics ! is it just the one main stand for the initial opening
We are the SR the SRFC.......
Part time Finn Harps too :)
There is supposed to be a demountable away stand circa 300 behind one end
And according to the Facebook page work on the away stand is starting the same time as the seats go into the main stand.

What's done and what's left to do sounds good
Never knew they were putting in a hospitality suit catering 100 people sitting in old bar that's great.
Away end holding 340 350 seats
I read on the Markets Field Facebook site that including the initial cost of purchasing the ground that the whole redevelopment project has cost between 4 and 4.5 million euro! It also states that the LEDP will have a rolling maintenance contract which I think is brilliant. In fairness the club have hit the jackpot with this being handed on a plate to them with zero cost to the club. Makes all the negativity on this thread all the more laughable.
Do you not understand costs and stuff or do you go around deliberately missing points??
Genuinely curious because you seem to struggle with facts and figures and debates and that.![]()
"Zero cost to the club"
Uh huh.

Did Lims actually make a financial contribution to the construction?
