Looks like the large drawings aren't scanned properly though!

Fight the good fight!

It should be noted that this is all out of Limerick FC's hands, its the LEDP's affair.

The maximum attendance going by the plans are smaller then crowds we got last season. The whole thing is horrendous tbh
Wasn't it said that the estimate is 2,700? We averaged out around 1,200 by seasons end and to be honest next season we'd be doing very well to hit 2,700.
I still can't view those files though and tried downloading Internet Explorer and DjVu to do it but supposedly Internet Explorer isn't supported anymore.
Would be mad if we ended up having more demand than space but if it were to happen is there not scope there to add more stands or turn the terraced area into a seated stand when the time comes? Or build a stand like Sligo have done behind the other goals.
Maybe the LEDP said to themselves that there was no way they were putting money into building stands to have them empty. The crowds we got in Thomond may have helped sway them towards a more conservative ground.
LEDP have said they wont be adding any more anyway so it would be on us if they would even let us.
Its not just the capacity the plans themselves are horrible a smaller stand built next to the current stand on one side will look ridiculous. The stand behind the goal is not much bigger then the one in Jackman and looks a good distance away from the pitch. The placing of the terrace behind the other goal is baffling too.

This was put on facebook by someone else. Will have to save it to be able to get a proper view id say.
Going by that it looks like a bigger version of Jackman Park. The stand behind the goal looks tiny. Going by those drawings the stand is pretty much the same width as the 6 yard box. They should either go full length of the end line with the stand or forget about it.
If you take Limerick FC's plans and just simplified them i.e take out the stands behind the goals and just have them on either side of the pitch it would still be a huge improvement on that.
Did they get any input from people involved with the club or involved with any sport for that matter. I'm sure Munster will get a good giggle looking at the plans. Even Musgrave Park is light years a head of that.
I wonder how the LEDP feel about the fans reaction to the plans. We may not own it but if the one main group that are set to use it don't like it how is it going to attract more people in?

I wouldn't even call that horrendous, it's just patethic

I think 2,700 capacity is just about right. I'd rather be in a packed ground than a near empty one. As someone old enough to remember matches in the Markets Field I can tell ye one thing I didn't see it full all that often. The season we won the league you could have counted the spectators at the first few home games without much trouble. In the last 30 years how many times have we had gates of 3000+ at home games? Maybe 4 or 5 I'd guess.
Limerick only broke 2,700 three times the whole season past. All three games were within the first four of the season. Two of them were only at the 3,000 mark too. 2,700 is comfortably big enough considering the next highest gate in Thomond was 1,862.

The maximum attendance is actually the smallest problem i have with the plans.
