Hopefully a full bus of fans, and a decent enough away contingent for a change, level of interest has slightly risen this season, hopefully it continues, the team are playing decent football which makes a difference

Shameless name dropping time, but I was chatting to the Rod yesterday. He was very impressed with us last Saturday; Morley and the new chap from the north in particular.

They are absolutely to the pin of their collar with injuries, suspensions and retirements at the minute so three points may not be beyond the realms of possibility

I am disappointed with the result last night. I thought that the game was a series of two halves. We were shocking bad for fabios goal. Morley and Brady couldnt hit a setpiece between them. The game changed in the second half when Keith Gillespie came on. Mons got nervous of KG and all of a sudden we were all over them. KG was so unlucky to see his 30 yr freekick hit the post.then the final whistle blew.

It was encouranging to see a huge away support last nite. There were people there that I hadnt seen on a away trip in well over 4 seasons. The atmosphere was good. I like to think that we brought as much support as monaghan did. The crowd there I reckon was the same as the athlone game 600-700.

I did a comparison of our league form this time last year and after 6 games we had won one game and drew one game and lost four. We had four points after six games so our points total has practically doubled! now if we can start drawing games instead of losing them I will be happy.

the supporters club bus was full with 15 people and the rest all drove up along with a few members of the dublin SC. Oh by the way the news about mick lee is not great he could be out for the next 6-8 weeks..

Thats not good news Marty. Monaghan targeted Cronin all night long and the cross for their goal came from his side although Deans messed up in not calling for Hope to leave it when he was better positioned to clear it. Definately deserved a point. Brady was non existant in midfield and Don was caught off-side several times. He seems to switch off when the opposition has a free in their own half or goal kick, he doesn't get on-side on time! Gillespie will definately have to start instead of Brady on Saturday and maybe get Walsh in there too as he impressed when brought on.

Alot of people thought Morley had a stinker Friday night but I thought he was decent and had his free kick gone in we'd all be saying how brilliant it was. Gillespie swung in some real peaches when he came on and we could/should have scored from at least 2 of the 3 fantastic corners he swung in.

Brady was quite enough alright but I'm still not 100% sure if we should start Gillespie or not it will be a tough call for TC who was badly missed on the sideline (not that P. Coffey did anything wrong he did a fine job its just that extra influence helps young players)

btw Fair play to everyone that traveled to the game it was a great atmosphere and the section O boys have really outdone themselves with some of the new chants , the ozzie ozzie ozzie one is a classic haha

All in all we were extremely unlucky and I really believe we can beat Waterford on Saturday as they have had a poor start.

I agree with you there Outspoken, Waterford are there for the taking. Although Morley hadn't the best of games it wasn't a stinker by any means although I did hear a few give out big time about him. I thought Don was more ineffective than Morley. I'd rather see Don play up front though then out wide. He was banging in the goals and then was moved out when Skelly was fit. We should maybe look at playing a straight forward 4-4-2 and have Don right up there with Skelly.

If one kick of the ball makes you have a good game then team should be worried about his worth to the team. He ponced about on the right wing, for a player who has meant to have such great ability should he not be more creative and be more of a presence in the midfield. The midfield were not bullying the center of the park and they need to take control if they are to progress

Question is how many times does Cowan fall over his own feet?

"I thought that the game was a series of two halves" Crikey Marty, how many halves of football did you watch??!! What time did you get back? Did you get back?????
I just sit down at the typewriter & start hittin the keys, just hittin the keys. Getting them in the right order though thats the trick, thats the trick.

Sure tell them then Wullie in the dressing room or at training and not be giving out here about them. If I was on the squad I'd be letting them know what they need to be doing.

Have to agree with you on this, while Don can be a great winger because of his power and pace now that he is turning in the goals and frighting the life out of opposition defences we should have him down the middle more.

TC is building a very combative side and De Town will be difficult to beat this season- lets hope TC gives KG a full 90 mins and that Michael Lee is not out for too long

If I was on the squad I would give out to them. You still have it in your little brain that I was playing and not watching the game from the stand. I also could not understand why Hunt always hit the ball to Cowan from goal kicks which was readable all through the game why didn't he hit any of he other players.
