If we're thinking the same thing, I make it 17 too (and I've taken off both shoes and socks to check). I yield to you in coming up with the next clue if we're right!

I'm having trouble with that at the moment hence my unwillingness to name the answer. In time...
Actually come to think of it. If its what we think it is then it should be (5,3,9), but the equine is actually (16). Either the 12th man made a hames of it or he's a genius for landing us with a red herring.

Maybe the 18th letter is a handicap to stop us going too quickly?

I think our horse has only four letters in the second part of the word, and to throw even more of a spanner in the works, I'm working it out at 19 letters. Edit: seeing as we all know what the word is, just Googled the spelling, seems it's 18 after all.

Sorry, wasn't on here for a few days.

I was thinking of a 17-letter horse too so I'm stumped now.

The answer is a horse name It won at Cheltenham a couple of years back for Charlie Chawke and the Sunderland gang.Bertie name checked this person in his list of people who bailed him out of his financial woes and the horse was christened as a pi$$ take.

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Excellent clue. I was stumped, but shouldn't have been which is a good sign.
