We won a few trophies in 2003 and 2004 and were generally in the top 5 teams in the country for a few years. It was quite a rise compared to Athlone's performance for that period (even if we have fallen somewhat since!)

Yeah I think it may be for their website, not sure if it'll appear in the magazine but I'll put a link on here if and when it appears anyhow.

Tony Cousins gives his thoughts on the signing here. Sounds like he was fully in favour of the decision to bring him in which is important.

Another good piece on the signing from Saturday's Irish Times by the way

Cousins said in mirror friday he would play tonight and be in Limerick squad but it says on our site he will be unveiled v Athlone, I expect we will see him Saturday night and not this evening.
If god wanted us to play football in the clouds he would have put grass up there!

its possibly a case cousins wanted him playing as early as possible and expected as much but then maybe the people behind the scenes thought its better to hold off for a week, build it up and have him play the day of the press conference thing v athlone to bring in a good crowd.
