Again, there's oh so many variables in play here and it's proving tougher to read the mind of Jack and his current international status.
Is he pulling out because he couldn't be arsed with: (A) playing for Ireland under 21's (B) playing for Ireland under 21's in a friendly (C) playing for Ireland
Or.. is he pulling out because MON has him lined up to come into the squad for USA friendly or he hopes to come in for the USA friendly, but hasn't been assured of this by MON?
It's getting stranger. I wish someone would clarify something.
The idea of lads temporarily turning down under-age call-ups to focus on their club careers before later playing for the concerned association's senior team (or their under-age sides again) isn't unprecedented. Ryan McLaughlin and Rory Donnelly have done it with NI. I'm sure other young footballers have done it around the world.
If Martin does plan on bringing him in for the US, why is it being "stage-managed"? Why not just announce now that he'll be in the squad after Scotland? Would it be to avoid a media hoo-ha ensuing over why he's not making himseld available (to be cap-tied) for the Scotland squad too? Then again, the present mystery of the situation stirs plenty of doubtful talk anyway, so it's not as if either option is going to nip media talk in the bud.
All very puzzling indeed. Where's Fallon when you need him?!

No I'm not, I never anywhere said I didn't like posters on this forum. Just because I dont agree with someone doesn't mean I don't like them. I hope you arent so fickle or sensitive in your daily life when getting into disagreements/difference of opinions with people. And stop adding 2 and 2 and getting 6.

You made it sound like you're just writing the opposite of what people were saying for the sake of it.
Oh sorry CD, I was speaking literally, my intention wasn't that I am just writing it for the sake of it.

Ya Tets, sorry I am not saying I know more, the more we learn the less we understand it appears on the Jack Grealish affair.

Thread locked, I'm done trying to decided who's right/wrong in every new post here
I'll unlock it if/when Grealish's future is decided
any mention of him on any other thread, other than "played/scored/booked/sent off for Villa" and you can have some time off to think about what you've done
Lot of discussion on Grealish on other threads, so I'm unlocking this.
warning - if I feel the discussion descends to previous levels of ridicule, I'll lock it again
His future given the back page and most of the inside page in the ipaper today, about how England must do everything to get him on board.
If they keep this pressure if it'll be very difficult for him not to switch to England.
Yep I agree. We really need to qualify for these Euros!
The sooner this saga is resolved once and for all the better.
He seems an emotional sort anyway so I would be surprised if he didn't go with his heart. Unfortunately, that's that necessarily us though, regardless of whether or not he has sang along to some ballads.
I'm don't have as much faith as Danny in the comments he made at the FAI awards to be honest, he was just in a place in time where he needed to mumble out something that wouldn't rock the boat. There was nothing emphatic about the delivery, even if the words themselves seem conclusive.
The truth is I have no idea what his motives or feelings are on the matter, none of us do. As a player we currently have (kind of!) it is obviously worrying that we may lose him. Hopefully the guy who wrote that piece for The Examiner knows even more than the article suggests, because I don't think there was anything overly reassuring in it.
Absolutely. Lads like Grealish I'm sure like to be going to tournaments not staying at home watching them.
However, I never knew that 3 out of his 4 grandparents are actually Irish born and bred from Kerry, Galway and Dublin. If he feels English after that then let him off.
