Replace the respective league cups with a all ireland league cup might give the whole thing a boost the only issue would be having linfield traveling down to a first division club who wouldnt be accustomed to large away crowds never mind a big security headache like them but the idea has merit.

The competition really lost its momentum when they start fiddling about with dates, and when the TV company lost interest in it, that was that.

I can't see it lasting beyond this year. Shame as it started off so positively

Funny thing was that crowd trouble was the biggest perceived threat to the future of it before it had begun.

There was bewilderment in our section of the ground when they read that out, didn't look to be anywhere near that. After the game a few lads were saying that we must have misheard and it 1080.

I wouldn't have said that myself, but not far off it I'd say. Ye had a nice crowd down, our part of the old stand had a little more than usual, and the new stand seemed a bit more full than normal aswell.

In and around that figure seems to be the estimation on our forum as well.

Not many in the Carlisle tonight, 600 tops, I'd say. Maybe 50 from Derry. Disappointing turnout for us, to be honest.

Big crowd in new stand (which holds 1700), 400 Sligo supporters, and maybe 200 outside the main stand. We have approx 600 season ticket holders.

Their website says 1500.They are spending big bucks promoting the games and have Connacht Flags all over the town. They used to play on saturday afternoons, then switched to 6.30pm on fridays and for their last 2 games have gone to 7.45pm .All they are doing is making their own crowds smaller.Fantastic crowd last night biggest in nearly 3 years. We are only learning everything being done is voluntary so our administration costs are zero.

Apologies the crowd for the egg chasers was 1200 approx.Their prices are between €8 to €13 higher than ours & our family tickets and Accompanied U12'S getting free entry have made a huge difference.

Are they doing this to deliberately target GUFC's crowds, or are they just being daft?

We have all our season Tickets Barcoded and all are scanned plus we have to count everyone coming in for Health & Safety. We also cross check our cash with tickets something which i hear sligo have a problem doing
