Premier :
Think its Shamrock Rovers title to lose to be quite honest . They look very strong and i cant see any one other than them winning the title.
Could be an interesting battle for European places though with Sligo, Dundalk, Pats and Derry among the contendors.
For the Relegation battle, Drogs look like the team destined for the drop.

First Divison :
It looks as though Shels have one of the promotion places snapped up already. They have really strenghtened in the off season and that will probably stand to them. Waterford likewise have a strong squad . As for ourselves on Leeside, I feel we are an awful lot stronger than we were last season
And with the signings we have we are more than able in my opinion able to compete with anyone in this division .
Limerick , Harps and Mons also have a shout of getting promotion .

it's more likely to be 5-1.

I think it will be close between Athlone and Salthill but I can see Mervue making a step up this year and Longford + Harps will be suprise packages this year.
FAI CUP - Shamrock Rovers
EA SPORTS CUP - Sligo Rovers
SETANTA CUP - SHAMROCK ROVERS
Looks like Rovers are gona have a good year I can see them going a few rounds in Europe too , such a strong squad might be hard to keep them all happy though.

6. Mons
7. Wexford

Really hard to make these predictions without a ball being kicked in the league.
Mons are not half the side they were last season.
Limerick have improved with Gary Sheehan going to bag an absolute hatfull for them.
Shels have finally put together a squad capable of walking this division, they also have arguably the best player in the division in Conan Byrne.
Waterford's central defence is the best in the division with Murray and Browne.
shams will throw it away. do ye all really think the big names not getting games every week will all pull in and be happy for the team? doubt it. they have great players there but they cant all play. about 6 or 7 good enough to start in most teams, but will be on the bench.
i dont think we'll (sligo rovers) will be good enough to win it, im not expecting we will, never did, id be happy with top 3 and winning a cup or two. will be quite tight between the top 4/5.
i think pats will be hard to break down. i like kenna and mc millan. also like mc millan on the wing/up front too, two good signings. may lack a serious goal threat however.
dundalk will be quite strong for the first 2 series or so like last season. may tire then, although no euro games so that'll help. some very impressive signings in quigley, byrne & bolger.
derry will go well i think, always hard going to the brandywell and mcglynns a good addition, jurys still out on higgins...mcclean with another year under his belt will be one to watch aswell as the two McEleneys (are they still there). may run out of steam though, not sure they have much strength in dept
Bohs will be okay i think, decent goalkeeper, solid enough back 4, but will lack creativity in the final third. probably finish about 5th or 6th imo
UCD lost an awful lot of players, have a quality A team so im sure a good lot have made the step upto the first team and could be decent, im sure it'll be the usual mid table finish for them. always a good footballing side though
bray improved at the end of last season, keeping kelly was a big thing for them, and id say they'll be in 7th or 8th.
Galway and Drogheda will battle it out for relegation, either or really. i'll tip galway to go though.
My predictions for the season are as follows:
First Division to end with 10 teams as Salthill and Galway merge inconveniently.
Drogheda somehow finish above Bray at the end of season, but are below them at the beginning of the next one.
Questions about finances of Bohs, Drogs, Galway errupt during the season.
UCD do quite well, quietly sneaking within a few points of a European place
Poor refereeing in one of the FAI Cup semis causes uproar. Referee in question subsequently named to ref Cup Final.
Dublin FAI TV Tournament, or whatever they are calling it gets more coverage than the non-scandalous elements of the League; at least one paper covers the games as though there are more Inter or whoever fans in Ireland than for the Rep team / photos of masses of empty seats.
Rumours of a team here signing someone who recently played for Ireland set the air a-buzz for a couple of days, before the player in question signs for Bristol Rovers.
Talk of a player strike comes up in September.
Athlone surprise everyone for the first series of games, and do enough then to finish in the top half of the division.
Some kind of fudge stops one if not all of the following: 20 team single division ; Cobh returning to the league ; indeterminate premier club going bust mid season ; decent live coverage of a significant match that turns out to be a cracker to boot.
RTE reduce League coverage citing budgetary difficulties, with no diminution of EPL coverage.
Three asterisked clubs by the end of the season.
Fudge over the licenses to ensure that no-one is kicked out before next season.
Sligo to really impress before the transfer window and promptly to lose two good players to English or Scottish clubs.
Some really good football played by more clubs than not, and some good European performances, including one against a "name" club.
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.
Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

Think Derry are being over-estimated. Looking at their squad I dont expect them to ever really challenge for a Euro place. Shams big squad could be their downfall, can't keep them all happy and they also have a poor manager in O'Neill so that doesn't help either.

Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
