OK, Behan and Nwankwo. Spring Fenn and Flynny off the bench after an hour if we're not 3/4 up.

calling us boo-boys. a lot of the board here would know me and would know i always give city 100%.
not happy with fenn in the team but when he is playing i support him.

when i didnt agree with greg being in the team, i supported him when he played and when he had a stormer against SPA i was the first one to say it.

cant say i ever disagreed with george being in the team

you would wanna fcuk off now with the way you are labelling fans.

No chance of us being able to boo you then.

Be hard pushed to believe that by the way you have slated him here.

The same way you label whatever player takes your fancy.

Xtreme is dead right to say what he has. Some of us think he is putting in effort and while not playing to his full potential, he is trying. Which is more than I can say for John O'Flynn but you don't hear the rest of us berating Flynnie to the extent some people are going on about Fenn.

Give it a rest before the paranoia takes over.

    Blinder?
I'm talking, and have been continously been talking, about EFFORT.
Fenn is not putting in any.
Are you deliberately ignoring my point?

Fenn is the target for the boo-boys this year Neil. He isn't playing well, i'm sure is trying his best in training to improve. He put in as much effort as JOF in Waterford....

It's like talking to the wall...had to say the same stuff about George last year. They target the guys with a touch of class...
    Are you referring to me?
Or is it the people in this thread who booed the team of the pitch a few short weeks ago?
The same people who are getting all hot under the collar over the justifiable criticism of Fenn.

Does anyone care to explain to me why criticising a player is wrong, but its all fine and dandy when some of you direct it at team, probably feeling it was justified?

For once we agree and I'm glad to hear you weren't one of those that abused Fenn during the game last Friday night.

But the thing is, i don't think you do see.

By saying he is putting in effort, doesn't mean he couldn't do more because I think he can but I think that could go for more than half the team.
What I don't agree with is the singling out of one player and for him to be taking the brunt of peoples frustrations.

we are on a good unbeaten run on the moment but i would put that to the whole team -fenn

if he had played they way we were told he could play how many of the draws in that run would have been wins

For those of you who think JOF is putting in 100% effort I advise you to watch him closely next Friday. His running and movement is appaling and he seems a pale shadow of himself chasing players down. And this has nothing to do with his fitness levels, if he was'nt fully match fit the least he could do is put himself about for an hour and then allow Dolan to bring in fresh legs (like he could think of doing that )

That's not what i said and you know well it's not . I have no problem with someone criticising a player, management or the team as a whole, in this case some of you feel it's justified, some of us don't.

I said there was a difference between booing an individual player (on the team you support, before I'm paraphrased again and Alan Reynolds is added to the mix ) and booing the team as a whole.

    OK, I'll ask yet again.
These are quotes from you on this thread. Please explain the difference that you seem to think exists to me.

Support your team and your players for christs sake.

if you're a supporter, you should be there to support, full stop.

I said I'd boo the team off if I felt that they didn't perform
As for your comment about paraphrasing and adding Reynolds into the mix, read my posts on this thread. I believe this is the 3rd time I've asked what this difference is, without ever paraphrasing anyone, or introducing Reynolds,Tom Cobley or anybody else into the thread.

Alright patsh, I'll do my best.

When you boo the team, you're letting the team and the management know that you're not happy, they all hear it heading into the dressing room where they thrash out the game, see where mistakes were made (point the fingers where needs be) and deal with the reaction from the fans as a group.

When you boo a player off as he's being substituted, you're kicking him when he's already down (if he's been subbed as he's playing badly) and he has to sit through the rest of that game without being able to answer it. My main problem with it is that it's attacking a player's confidence, I've yet to see a situation where CCFC fan's ill treatment of a player has made him a more productive member of the squad. I don't like the bully-boy aspect of it, nor do I like the fact that it's booing a member of a squad still playing the game on the field. I don't consider it supporting the team for the ninety minutes.

Don't really care if you (or anyone else) agrees or not, I see a distinct difference there.

And by booing a player, are you suggesting that you are not "letting the player, team and management know you are not happy"?
Booing a team is not "attacking player's confidence" ?
    Jesuitical in the extreme, tiktok...
I didn't boo Fenn, I didn't boo the team and have never done so to a player or a team. However, I did express my frustration at Fenn's ongoing lack of effort. I have also said that I want the guy to knuckle down, work har and become a star for City, which he is well capable of doing.

Have we had enough of splitting hairs?

Nah .... i say not ... i totally agree with him on this one ... there is a distinct difference or more to the point ... impact !! The team can shared it .... one player ... it is direct but it is in no way helpful at all. Never has been.

(For the record, i dont boo anyway, as a rule ... i never boo a player or team, end of ... it doesn't work)
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
