guys, no one is going to take notice of a petition where people don't put up real names.
bit of common sense, other than that comment, hope it does a bit of good![]()

Please take part, these things do work and we all may get a result!!!

Whether or not TV3 sort things out, RTE should have been brought to task about this years ago!!

To get more coverage for this petition why don't we post the link for it on our own teams forums and other Irish football forums.
Sorry but i have to agree with this.Originally Posted by tiktok

You need to have real names and a legitimate comment on why that person feels RTÉ should change their habit.
Also ... the reason why people are signing should be clear. With a proper objectives set out.
I'd also suggest that a survey be made out, that seeks reasoned information and opinion, and that be completed instead of a petition.
Also ... doing something online is no good .... it needs to be done in person at games or other events. It should be done over a good number of weeks to allow everyone to get involved. Alot of people will not be at every game but not by choice ... work commitments dictate for alot of people.
I would put a site together with a mission statement and info for people i.e. how they can get involved, what can thery do to help constructively. How best to approach TD's etc.
I think this should be run over the course of a season or maybe two. Also the football community are not the only people with a vested interest. You could garner support from other codes aswell who also feels the same i.e. minority sports (i know football isn't minority but it is threated as such, being serious)
I think the first move on this would be idea generation and find rep. from each club. Remember alot of junior clubs would be interested aswell.
I think an ideal way to get the ball rolling aswell (later on down the line) would be well-known players who have played in the eL and who have made a name for themselves to come on board and pitch in to change opinion. Also any other house hold names. I think it would need to be on a big scale to shift opinion and attitude and opinion.
But it all have to start somewhere.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
Please add sensible comments when posting.
This petition will be printed out and delivered to RTE in person!!
Any other suggestions always welcome
This is not a solo project!!
Thanks

We shouldn't beed petitions and the like, all we need is the FAI to stop being a useless bunch of clowns. Sell Irish home internationals and EL coverage as a package. You buy one, and you have to show a certain amount of EL league games a season live, plus a highlights package to be shown at a decent hour too. Home internationals are so sought after the EL part wont put any potential buyers off. Prefrebley Sky would take it up, while it would not be ideal for people without Sky, the one thing they can do is promote, with them on board the image of the league would be greatly increased, they could also dedicate more time to the league.
Well to be hnoest .... i think we'd need to exercise every option available to us. A well thought out petition would be a good way of actually highlighting the problem to the football viewing public and a good way of highlighting the numbers concerned about the problem.
Idea generation is very important i think .... you need everyone to work in unison on this one.

I'm not having a go at the petition, every little helps and I signed it meself, I was just saying we had someone with any kind of level of competency at the FAI we wouldn't need a petition. Unfortunately we don't, so hopefully the petition makes a difference.
Totally agree with you ... i was on the phone with them last week and it would depress you. They are actually not doing us justice at all.Originally Posted by Slash/ED

Yet they dont demand the National Broadcaster to show the National League. It is unbelievable when you think about it. They shouldn't be allowed to use Ireland in the name of the association. It claims that they are representing Irish people in football and they clearly are not on this issue.
It actually get alot worse when you compare it to the other European countries.
It is amazing that it has been allowed to remain like this for so long.

I don't honestly know if you can change or add comments afterwards so it may be best posting again, possibly using another email address?
When it ends I will edit the document anyway before printing
Thanks

Itsn looking good 222 signatures!
274...
Good idea, not too sure if RTÉ are he ones we should be complaining to, but, all for the same cause. Apparently, Trev Welch has said eL weekly will be back in a week.
eL weekly or not .... RTE should sort it out.
There are alot of good points being made but have to say it .... this petition needs to be at every game of every club for at least 10 weeks to get all the people who would be interested.
European Broadcasting Union .... could they help at all i wonder ?
www.bci.ie .... the broadcasting commission of Ireland (the ombudsman) doesn't govern RTE ..... RTE are self regulating .... there in lies the problem.
They have allowed the general public to complete a charter (kept very quite at the time) to see what the public wanted. That is a huge hurdle for people like us .... RTE claim they have left it out in the public domain but no one even heard about it not to mind add to it. They must be brought ot book for this ..... question is .... how do you go about tackling that situation.
I reckon if RTE/TD's here dont listen ... then you need to go above them.
Anyone here a bit more clued up on this stuff ??

The Sky digital listings say EL weekly will be on at 11.25 tonight. It could be a mistake but keep an eye on TV3 just in case....Originally Posted by jofyisgod

Hi Folks
Whether or not TV3's programme is back on tonight or not, please keep the info flowing re: Petition
RTE should still be brought to book for their lack of coverage and to be honest would do a much better job than TV3
