What public service I ask ?
I blame it all on Bertie..... and the unions.....and..and..it would be different in the private sector
Joe Duffy one of the licencing committee now?

I figured you'd reply. Galway are a model club, I'll have you know.

Seriously, the "de man who signs dat is on hol'days" defence is utterly contemptible.

Its the defence Bohs gave. It most certainly wasn't the defence they were given by the Department of Sport (etc), as can be seen by their reply in the Mail on Sunday

Revenue deal with 1000s of tax clearance certs a day. It doesn't require any individual.

Its unlikely to be the last time LOI clubs try to blame people other than themselves either

Of course they will continue as that's the only reason the LOI exists, the fault of other people. If the GAA weren't so bad the LOI would be playing to full crowds in super modern arenas and challenging for continental honours. If it wasn't for the pesky owners/investors in clubs then all clubs would be fine as there would be money growing on trees. If it wasn't for those few hundred who go every week to England and Scotland to support "foreign" clubs LOI grounds would be bursting at the seams (not a shot at Bray). If it wasn't for the FAI the LOI would be flying, with innovative competitions, good regulation and no clubs going bust. And of course if it wasn't for the apathetic Irish public barstoolers then we'd be fine.

You've hit the nail on the head and especially about revenue - why is it that LOI clubs have a myriad of excuses that pass muster when it suits? It beggars belief.

Is that an opinion, or based on actual H&S reports?

There was basically a full thread on it at the end of last season, don't think it needs to be gone through any further at this stage.

I joined here in March 2010.

I wasn't having a pop - I always thought the walls were a bit close to the pitch.
Just wondering if there were any H&S reports on it.

Maybe he was on holidays or sick or whatever - it was Galways rush job not Revenue's, unless I've missed something that Revenue were actually "late" issuing the cert? There is enough genuine issues without adding to them with crap.

Without knowing how far in advance Galway applied for it, it's hard to say whether it was a rush job or not (fair enough if you actually know when they applied, I don't).
