We just had to make do with lads that could cross the ball instead

Ireland: Shay Given; John O'Shea, Sean St Ledger, Richard Dunne, Ciarán Clark; Séamus Coleman, Glenn Whelan, Darron Gibson, Damien Duff; Jonathan Walters, Kevin Doyle. 10 PL players!
5 of whom spend most of the week warming their backsides on the bench, if even that far.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

The only proper bench warmers in that team are Given, Whelan and Gibson. The rest get regular PL action (yep even Walters). I'd still take that over a team made up of lower level Championship players.

You'll NEVER beat the Irish.......you'll just draw with us instead!!!

I'm sure this has kept you awake over the last couple of nights but yes, yes it was St-Ledger who headed the ball on the ground!
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

    It did, and thank you.

might have been all that crack I smoked as well, but I guess it was the identity of that player

You might have been jealous of my new relationship with Paul. You were his old room-mate...
