    The online election

Obama famously used the Internet to full advantage in his journey to the White House, and last year the three main UK party leaders participated in a Facebook debate, but so far it's mostly voters who have been discussing politics online in Election 2011. Despite the various loons who post, Politics.ie is unmissable for breaking news, while after Joan Bruton's meltdown, reaction was instant on Twitter. Admittedly, the Greens have become notorious for tweeting and FF announced Martin's election on the same site, but it's fair to say that political parties haven't exploited party sites and social media to their full potential. Flyers in the door and roadside posters will always be the main weapon in every candidate's campaign, but if parties are really serious about reaching the 18-34 voter age group, you'ld expect them to have Directors of Online Media to organise concentrated efforts in this area.

FG attempted to have online interaction but it was hacked.
I don't think that the likes of fb debates would wash here at all.

Though I do agree that they should have a Director of online media.
DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
