Carruthers featured in the second half of yesterday's friendly with Shamrock Rovers, the only other Irish Villain on show being Ciaran Clark.
http://www.independent.ie/sport/socc...-29472619.html"Samir is offensive, that's his strength," said Lambert. "There are a lot of good players in the side at the minute that he will have to try and dislodge. He's a young lad learning about the workings of the game but he's done fine."
Off to MK Dons until January. Good move

Just scored his first senior goal to draw MK Dons level at home to Bristol City. His Ireland U21 and former Aston Villa teammate Derrick Williams is one of three Irishmen in the City defence.
Just watched the goal now on the Football League Show. Four super finishes in the game but his was the classiest.
loan extended until April 3rd: http://www.mkdons.com/news/article/d...n-1282513.aspx
Scored a terrific goal against Oldham on Saturday - great turn to beat his man, followed by a Grealish-esque diagonal run across the defence before cutting the ball back to the opposite corner of the net - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t47pk...re=c4-overview - goal at about the 1:00 mark
quick tip if you want to link straight to a specific time in a youtube video you add "&t=XmYs" to the end of the link where X is the minutes and Y is the seconds so to go straight to 1 minute 1 second the link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t47pk...verview&t=1m1s

Carruthers out for season with knee injury; back at Villa.
Dammit!!! Another crocked international/potential international- and he seemed to be doing well for them - his recent goal for them was class. Let's hope he gets well soon and either breaks into the Villa squad or gets a good move, maybe to a Championship team, next season.
Bit harsh to say he's crocked. He'll miss the last two months of the season.
Carruthers started in central midfield against Mansfield yesterday.
Carruthers has been left out of the first team who have made the trip to Texas. However, what is a surprise is Enda Stevens' inclusion and our Jack is included too. Carruthers, Drennan and Burke to possibly go out on loan?

there were rumours a few weeks ago that MK Dons had bid to sign him on a permanent deal - http://www.football-rumours.co.uk/as...la-rumours.php (scroll down to 23 Jun 2014) - but nothing since
also it's not the most reputable of sources.
Carruthers starting for Villa in a mostly second-choice line-up against Paul Cook's Chesterfield. Grealish, Given and Stevens on the bench. Already 1-0 down.

MK Dons would like to sign Carruthers on a permanent basis; player's car spotted at Stadium MK.
It seems league 1 or champsionship are a black hole for promising young players.
Managers tend to go with tried and trusted leagues in Europe to bring in players rather than buy from the lower divisions.
Take Stephen Gleeson he seemed like a cut above the rest anytime I saw him in midfield but yet he hasn't got a chance anywhere higher. Same goes with hoolahan only got a chance because of norwichs progression, but again no one came in for him.
it's worrying because he seemed like a decent prospect a year or two ago, but now more than likely a life of destitution awaits in the lower echelons of Englands football leagues..
I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
Take a look at who Stephen Gleeson plays for, Paul. Grealish has advanced from League One too. It's fair to say Carruthers' situation might be different had he not gotten a season-ending injury while at MK.
