Europa League 2010/2011 (Final : Aviva Stadium, 18th May)

Who else applied for tickets for the Final? think there's a lottery in the next few days and (un)successful applicants will be notified by Wednesday. That's assuming demand exceeded supply which is surely a given. The touts will have a field day should Liverpool make the Final.

    Round of 32 draw
SSC Napoli (ITA)v Villarreal CF (ESP)
Rangers FC (SCO) v Sporting Clube de Portugal (POR)
AC Sparta Praha (CZE) v Liverpool FC (ENG)
RSC Anderlecht (BEL) v AFC Ajax (NED)
KKS Lech Poznań (POL) v SC Braga (POR)
Beşiktaş JK (TUR) v FC Dynamo Kyiv (UKR)
FC Basel 1893 (SUI) v FC Spartak Moskva (RUS)
BSC Young Boys (SUI) v FC Zenit St Petersburg (RUS)
Aris Thessaloniki FC (GRE) v Manchester City FC (ENG)
PAOK FC (GRE) v PFC CSKA Moskva (RUS)
Sevilla FC (ESP) v FC Porto (POR)
FC Rubin Kazan (RUS) v FC Twente (NED)
LOSC Lille Métropole (FRA) v PSV Eindhoven (NED)
SL Benfica (POR) v VfB Stuttgart (GER)
FC BATE Borisov (BLR) v Paris Saint-Germain FC (FRA)
FC Metalist Kharkiv (UKR) v Bayer 04 Leverkusen (GER)

    Round of 16 draw
    Benfica/Stuttgart v BATE/PSG
    Beşiktaş/Dynamo Kyiv v Aris/Manchester City
    Rubin/Twente v Young Boys/Zenit
    PAOK/CSKA Moskva v Sevilla/Porto
    Lille/PSV v Rangers/Sporting
    Metalist/Leverkusen v Napoli/Villarreal
    Anderlecht/Ajax v Basel/Spartak Moskva
    Sparta Praha/Liverpool v Lech/Braga

Be good if one of Sporting Lisbon, PSV or Lille made it....

No chance of Liverpool in their current form.

I feel like I'm missing something...why those teams?

The ties that really jump out at me would be Napoli-Villarreal and Porto-Seville.

Don't think many teams would want to play them all the same. The draw has been kind enough. Man City will be extremely hard to beat I would think.

checked my credit card earlier, and I'd been charged for a ticket for the final, but no confirmation mail from UEFA or the FAI
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

Agree about Citeh. As for the teams I quoted, I'll let you work it out.
Finally, Liverpool, it ain't going to happen. They need to concentrate on not getting involved in a relegation battle!

Liverpool are 11 games unbeaten in Europe, so the problems this season haven't been in that competition. But if the team do get to the final, at least it'll be a proper game, not the farce that took place at Lansdowne last August.

Yeah, but have they played anyone of note?

Could get to Semis or Quarters but no serious Liverpool fan mentions winning this as they are rather more preoccupied with the EPL.

The club have progressed through two play-off rounds, and unbeaten top of the group, and have dealt with whatever stood in the way so far adequately.

Obviously, fans are more preoccupied with the league now, but that'll change the more progress is made in Europe.

given that the last time I was successful in one of these ballots was the UEFA Cup final in Manchester, I'm now convinced that Rangers are going to make the final

Me neither unfortunately. Well, no credit card activity or emails yet anyway.

Edit: Got an email saying I was unsuccessful, ah well

No tickets from four applications by me and my immediate family :-(

Well, shouldn't be too hard to get tickets as long as it's Matlist-BATE final.

No. UEFA will move the final (on Gardai advice) to Tranmere.

How'd you manage that with an address in Derry?

Although the national team can be chosen from all 32 counties, fans/block bookers, from the north were excluded from this ballot. A nice wee thank you for all those 10 hour round trips supporting the team.

Sounds scandalous;maybe UEFA kept back those tickets for all those Nordies who couldn't make it to Serbia....

Or no-one told them about The C.A.S. ruling!!
