more toilet paper to use out in d4........sorry but rte really don't give a toss, i think an iternet package with highlights is the best we can hope for at this stage![]()
No selling out to Sky!!!
Somebody could organise an online petition to give to RTE. I'm sure there would be alot of signatures if everybody forwards it around. I remember there was a special site, www.petitiononline.com.

screw that, which broadcaster is covering the U21 game in galway. if they can do an Irish news programme solely for Irish viewers they can do an EL show solely for irish viewers too. I'd get sky sports if they showed regular live games and did a decent package over the EL season.Originally Posted by Rocky
sell out to the company that gives proper coverage to the league, and puts some money and interest into it.
i don't really give a damn who shows it, it could hitlers love child for all i care, just as long as the public profile is raised and we get a bit of coverage

No, no, that's not how debates work on this forum! You're supposed to blindly repeat your previous point, call me an idiot, then bash Roy Keane/Mick McCarthy for a while before blaming the British occupation of the North for the whole thing! You don't (partly) agree with me!Originally Posted by A face

Me too ... gutted, why didn't the wait till the end of the season, or not start at the start of this one. We've only played a handfull of games in all fairness.Sorry 'bout that...![]()

To be honest ..... this kind of thing will always be the case unless the clubs with the FAI tied whoever down to a deal to do the lot, domestic and international.
National Broadcaster my áss ..... i am totally píssed off to be honest.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
I totally agree. I reckon Sky would be the best option but who knows if they have any interest in covering the el or not.Originally Posted by tiktok
Everything Sky do, they do well. Any el show they would do would be an excellent presesntation and would be shown over and over again at a reasonable hour. They would generate a lot of interest and hype and or course it would be nice to get some of their money aswell!
Champions!
if they were told that they had to cover the EL as part of the deal to show Irish matches they'd be interested. It's not like it would bother them too much having to show the EL, they've nothing else on during the summer or on an average friday night.Originally Posted by Colm
Bringing this up again .... It is NOT cancelled ..... When all ten clubs can provide the proper facilities, they'll be back on air.
The only thing pending on this are the clubs.

sorry but at the mo it IS cancelled, that was the word from a sports presenter on tv 3.........

I was looking at Lansedown road today and the gantry in the North Terrace. The only way upto it is a ladder, not even bolted to the ground, that's tied to the gantry at the top.
An obvious health and safety risk so, I can only imagine TV3 have pulled the plug on showing international matches until this safety threat is sorted, afterall, isn't that the only thing stopping them showing EL footie?
Slash/ED ...... i totally agree with you .... thing is TV3 dont. As soon as the 10 clubs are sorted out, they say they'll be back on. That's the line they are giving and that is the line FAI are giving aswell. To be honest ... all the clubs should be trying ot build a good relationship with the only channel that is/will show anything eL related.

Just to follow Slash's point. The scaffolding was no where near up to the standard of the eL grounds, and at a far greater height than any eL ground (straight drop at the back of the North terrace), with a bog standard ladder to get up there.
So are Sky ignoring Health and Safety or are TV3 using it as an excuse?

yes sky are and their camera man are willing to do it, do you have a problem that the tv 3 camera men won't ??? macy why don't you do camera man at the games, you centinaly seem to know how to do everything else and what everyone else should do....or will you cop out

Whats for me to cop out off, as I haven't signed a contract to show eL games? Two weeks ago, before you were drinking with the cameraman, you would've been as píssed off as the some of us are. I mean, it was you who were going on about getting Town games filmed with you're new camera due to the lack of coverage, especially at Flancare (which now isn't up to standards either apparently).
I don't know anything about using a camera, however I can spot a bullshít excuse, which is what TV3 are offering. If Celtic played Shels in a friendly at Tolka, wait and see how fast TV3 would get those camera's up to the gantry...

firstly have you seen the contract tv 3 signed with the league ??? if so do you know what health and safety clauses are in it ???
next, i will record games when i have an out put point for them, website or el weekly or the like......my main focus is a decent european package, i'll pm you the details if you wish.
as you said you know nothing about camera so you don't know then how much they cost and how easily they can be damaged....ladder issue....
flancare isn't the best but its ok, i mentioned the roof issue as a comfort point on a cold nov night.....
