    Defo.
Harney said that she told BC that she intended to resign. He said to say nothing til this week, ie. today.
so another day goes by without Golfgate in the headlines... What exactly is going on here... FF and especially Cowen and Lenihan are scared of something really serious coming out about that meeting. This has all been staged-managed to the highest degree.

The DoF released a lot of documents last week pertaining to Anglo but it was buried by talk of the pitiful heave.

    Now to dig...

Cowen will have to come up with some sort of catch all title for his new position, something along the lines of "King and Sole Administrator of the land of Eireann" would suit.

"Dear Leader" seems appropriate for a mad megalomaniac (the only one in charge) who refuses to acknowledge that his decisions - narrow-mindedly pushing along one solitary, non-productive area of the economy - have destroyed the country, leaving it on the brink of collapse.

I've always thought that Taoiseach is a good Irish translation of Führer. Perhaps a gaelgoir could set me right though.

Think it originally meant chieftain, fairly apt for our tribal politics.

Lenihan Minor just after tweeting that he wants Biffo shafted again.

Lot of little piggys running around the Dail with little knives, this has legs yet.

Conor Lenihan calls on Cowen to go: http://www.rte.ie/news/2011/0120/cowenb.html

Rumours of a backbench revolt to shaft Cowen this evening. Probably a few looking for promotions that didn't come off.

    Ha. This is great stuff.

The Greens will be having their say soon.

So a politician who thinks Twitter is an appropriate medium for conducting the affairs of state says that someone else's credibility is gone?!

    Greens on now: http://www.rte.ie/news/player_live.html#schedule

They welcome election date and decision not to appoint new ministers.

John Gormley says Cowen told him on Sunday that there could be new ministers. The Greens were strongly against.

They had no idea that resignations other than Martin would take place. They felt the cabinet should have discussed it once these happened. Not clear whether Biffo was going to go for new ministers but seems like he was.

The Greens told BIFFO they would not support new ministers in a Dail vote.

The government went very close to complete collapse by the sound of it.

Putting the boot in on FF a bit now.

Saying now that their only priority is the finance bill, not climate change or anything else.

Cowen has know for some time about the resignations but Gormley was told nothing- shocking way to run a coalition. Harney also kept it from the Greens.

Greens coming out of this relatively well I think... but this is going to run for quite a while longer.

You've set up the pun there, but the joke's too easy. Leave it for Neil Delamere or someone else on The Panel.
