H v Longford on 30 Jan at 8pm on Fosters Avenue per their forum. Not sure if that ko's correct though; didn't think FA had lights, and it's a Sunday night, which'd be very unusual.

I'm a little surprised to see a January friendly, even if it is just barely.

I'll be barely back from the Scottish League Cup semi so I think I'll pass.

Have we a team to put out?

Won 2-0 on Sunday. Standard pre-season stuff on a bobbly pitch. Darren Meenan and Graham Rusk scored in the first half-hour. We had two different teams out - one in each half. First half (in 2009 jerseys) was Ger, O'Conor, Nangle, Leahy (c), T Boyle, Corry, Ledwith (Ledwidge?), Creevy, Rusk, Marshall, Meenan. Second half team was McGinley, Cullen, Connaughton, Scanlon, O'Connor, McCabe, Fallon, Flynn, Belhout, Doyle, Russell. Only Ledwith/Ledwidge, Cullen, Scanlon and Flynn I'd never heard of before. Was impressed by Ledwith/Ledwidge in the first half; didn't see the second half, but schumi said McCabe and Russell stood out. So at least we can beat an experimental Longford team, which means we're better already than I think some of us had feared!

Yes, he played on the left wing in the second half.

Little bit strange seeing as he played left-back in his appearances last season. Looks a good prospect though. Still only 17 I think?

Beat Monaghan 3-1. Decent performance after going behind; could have had more. MvGinley did well in nets - one excellent save late on.

Team was McGinley, Harding, Nangle, Boyle?, Haro, Corry, Creevy, O'Conor, Marshall, Rusk, Meenan. Three second half subs; Morrison was one; didn't catch the other two. Fitzy is with Monaghan, it seems.

Tomas Boyle, we thought we had him for scholarship for the beginning of this college year but he went to the states, but did not settle. Other subs were benson and ledwithe.

Has Meenan been playing up front for us or something?

I think it's been kind of a 4-5-1, with Marshall on the right and Meenan on the left.

Flash - was Benson 13 on Saturday? Had a nice knack for getting the ball in acres of space in the second half.

Yes Benson was 13 as far as remember. He played in an attacking mid field roll.

Robbie will find space anywhere he wants on the pitch. Will step up to any level he plays.

Dundalk beat Monaghan 2-1 last night; Dundalk fans saying it was a tough game. Maybe this was a better result than we give it credit for?

Of course, maybe it was just pre-season stuff as well.
