Given chilwell went for 50.. doherty looks underpriced there. Wolves would want to have a replacement lined up. Possible payday for matt which may be the reason behind the move...

And Tottenham are a much bigger club too, with a higher ceiling you'd imagine overall. They even managed to pip Wolves for the final European spot, despite having a poor season and Wolves seen as having a very good one. Different expectations.

There was reports floating around over the weekend that they were negotiating a move for Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

They should all have this sell on deal in their contracts and also something in relation to under 30 premier league appearances

Sligo had a heap of add ons in that deal. Sligo supposedly have got somewhere in the region of 300-400k after all add on. There was a sell on clause too that Everton bought out if I remember right.

I might be mistaken but I think Mourinho always goes with 4 at the back? Usually 4-3-3 / 4-5-1. Not unlike how I expect SK to set up.

If he's RB in a back four for Spurs you can't see how Coleman will play there ahead of him for Ireland.

Stay where You are at Matt. Keep away from Mourinho. First of all he is Mourinho and second he is not a Spurs Manager. He will probably be gone soon. And if Mourinho is not playing the system that has done so well for Matt why sign for him ! ?

The way we didn't explore that further was absurd to me. In a game where we were dominating possession against a team sitting back...you can't judge Doherty in that environment as a winger in my view. I would have liked to have seen Doherty as a winger in a game where we are defending more or just in a more evenly matched game.

Using Doherty as a winger remains a viable option in my opinion but it needs to be in the right circumstances.

Good analysis piece here on Doherty which falls down ever so slightly when the writer gets to trying to explain some of the reasons for Aurier having superior numbers in certain measures than Doherty. Nonetheless, explains how he is expected to figure for them in good detail.

I can see how Doherty may have been chuffed with this move. Bigger club. Maybe a bigger salary. That may have been a factor in Wolves going through with it. But it also gives Doherty an ideal platform to challenge Coleman for the right back spot for Ireland.

Especially as there was a gale force breeze blowing the ball all over the place. McCarthy retired the idea of playing them both on the right immediately which was very strange indeed

looks like the €15m fee has been agreed this evening.
if mourinho can suck the attacking mindset out of a winger like duff i shudder to think what he will do to the attacking instincts of a full back like doherty. dreadful move in my opinion.

Strange one ~ An attacking Defender signs for a Manager that ain’t big on Attacking Defenders. Has Mourinho seen the light = I doubt it !

I think if you're Doherty you have to take the plunge. He's in his safe haven with Wolves but if he wants a real chance of winning something or maybe play Champions League football, Tottenham are surely a better bet, granted not a particularly safe bet.

Mourinho, for all his recent failings, is still a big draw too, never mind all the other obvious stuff, money, London, new challenge, etc. We do enough moaning about having so few players at the top clubs in recent times, I think we should welcome this sort of move. Of course it could all go tits up, but it's too big an opportunity to turn down.
