I would imagine the Irish vote in the States would in general be a bit more sophisticated than than just to vote for him because of a visit. There are loyalties to all different parties and individual candidates over there.

He milled that pint out of it in the bar though

George. W. Bush. That speaks for the entire electorate of the United States.

I'd be as cynical as the next fella as regards the reasons for his visit, - but what he did today in Moneygall was over and above the call of duty, must have been a really special day for those people. To engage with the people like that for so long was really something.

I though he was poor, he was out of sync with the crowds cheering and carried on talking, he basically ignored them a bulldozed on with
    his speech.

He and especially his wife seemed to having a great time, she seemed to really enjoy it.

Obama came out a bit early and he hadn't introduced him properly,I'm glad Kenny kept going with his speech as I thought it was a great feel good precursor to the President.

Anybody see the Irish Obama lookalike being interviewed on TV?

Saw him. Was he supposed to be Obama 15 years ago?

Thought Kenny went on way to long. Obama came out too early, but anything Kenny said beyond "Ladies and Gentlemen, please give a very warm cead mile failte to Barack and Michelle Obama" was too much. It wasn't his crowd.

I thought Enda was very good. It was real All-Ireland Final acceptance speech sort of stuff, perfect for the occasion and he set the scene perfectly. Statesmanlike but pumping you up. Obama's speech was excellent, well borrowed from Clinton a few months back, but very good. Have to admit to getting a little emotional. I didn't bother following the royal visit too much, but made sure to catch the College Green scene. Excellent.

Maybe, but I was responding to the guy who said he only needed to introduce him which was perhaps a bit unfair on him.
