Knockainy look to switch last Sundays MJC game to Aisling pitch, Aisling pitch inspection at 3 on Saturday, not a hope of it going ahead. MJ Councel (not the ldmc) say match is down to pitch inspection by ref on the day. Fixture switched back to Knockainey? only to get the call at 12 on the Sunday, when players are after travelling from Cork, Dublin and Portlaoise that the game is off???? Who called the game off? was there a pitch inspection as decided by MJC? The reason given was it was snowing in Knockainey - therefore the pitch is not playable. Was that not the same bloody arguement put forward on the Saturday???

Thats 3 weeks in a row and you wonder why players get ****ed off with Junior football.

alot of excellant points on this thread but more worrying some of the storys on here you would not make it up what is going on in junior football in this town for E.G god forbid but could you picture if that lad for AA was seriously hurt in that crash coming to match that should of been called off days before as whitestripe and everyone here has said a small bit of common sence is needed. like carew v kilmallock it was never going ahead but players were at the clubhouse about to leave when they were told it was off 15mins later and the carew team would be driving out to kilmallock on roads that live95 warned people not to go near bruff roads were inpassable.

I am amazed reading some of the post on here what clubs have to go through. It sounds like clubs need to practice a bit more communication and the leagues need to take their finger out and get things sorted

As for the debate on winter/summer there is not contest in my mind. We have had 17 years of Summer soccer in Mayo and its by far progressed the league beyond any other in Ireland in all terms not just football. Just this season I have gone back playing winter football in Roscommon and I cant believe the difference it makes. 7 weeks and we have not kicked a ball or trained!! Its impossible!!
    One answer for you guys....Change!!

Summer Soccer comes across as very attractive from Section 1 on the weblink - but the negatives (Section 2) seem to be fairly substantial too.

From kildare myself lads, and i can tell you that summer soccer has been a huge success up here. For me the best thing about it is been able to go watch games almost every day of the week in all the diferent div as its very flexible with regard to fixtures. Never a game called off and the pitches are in perfect condition. The standard is alot better and its great for the supporters, you can play 3 games in 2 weeks no prob with midweek fixtures. The whole country will end up playin summer soccer at some stage but when is the question. ITS A SERIOUS NO BRAINER

I have yet to experience a season that did not finish because of weather. We are well ahead with games played this season so will finish no problem.
Personally I would be against it. With a couple of kids my summer weekends are taken up at the seaside etc.
Also, whatever you think of the GAA AT A GUESS I WOULD SAY 33% OF PLAYERS IN THE LEAGUE PARTAKE.
The loss of these players would reduce the numbers of teams which would have knock on affects.
I would be in favour of a break for the month of December.
I can see why the senior fans would like an alignment to avoid thier players reverting back to junior in the off season but that is no reason to change something that has worked well for 50 years and more.

Lads, what is the purpose of the ldmc and do they have a code of standard that they work from that people can have a look at.
heard in the pub last night that there was a death in a club over the weekend and the club, the team they were playing and the ref all agreed to call the game off but the ldmc refused, heard this happened another club during the start of the season and the club gave a walk over rather than play the game because of respect to the family

heres my question doesnt every club/organisation have a code of conduct/standard/rules that they work from, has anyone ever see the code of duty from the ldmc and can they put it up here so that we can have a read of them as it seems that the ldmc are a law onto themselves, are they not there to help/run Limerick Junior soccer. that decision not to allow that game to be cancelled over the weekend was a disgrace

also hear last night that the was a blanket ban on all junior soccor games over a xmas weekend because the secretary had a wedding to go to and didnt want people phoning him so he cancelled all soccer that weekend, wft, how is that allowed

I think this was Croom. If that is true it is disgraceful. I always remembered that games would be called off if there was a death with someone involved in the club or someone assocciated be it a players parent, relation etc......

I'd believe the last part too. What the clubs should start doing when disgraceful decisions are made is continuously go above the LDMC to the Munster Junior Council. If they get annoyed enough something will be have to be done.

hard to imagine that the ldmc dont have a code of conduct/standard/rules even harder to believe clubs involved with ldmc dont demand copies surely there must be an agm and clubs can push for ldmc to pass a ruling that all clubs be supplied with conduct/standard / rules pre season .,, on the clare league website claresoccer.net you can find full list of code of conduct / disciplinary guidelines / rules and they even list red cards offenders so it should not be a problem for ldmc ..
