I went along to the Galway game. Cockhill were full value for the win. They hardly put a foot wrong to be honest. Galway had a strong enough team out too from what I could tell.
Happy with our win tonight. From what I've heard we played pretty well and its always good to score a few goals.

What sort of ****s are been groomed up there to referee....2 games in a row we get officials who wouldn't look out of place in a circus. UCD's second goal was never a penalty. Alvin Rouse clearly won the ball in the box yet the ref and even worse linesman who was on that side gave them a penalty!!! And then for UCD's winner there were 3 players offside including the goalscorer!! Complete joke!! And also when we had our penalty the keeper was messing about with his water bottle trying to put Salmon off when I (from behind the goals) roared 'book him' and in comes the ref flashing a yellow!!!! How much do these officials get paid? Its a total disgrace as they're far from up to the job.

Mervue seem to have really improved this season and are not a walkover like previous seasons suggest. I was impressed with them when they played cork a few weeks ago and was hoping they'd take points off Shels at the weekend which they could have done going by the report on extratime.ie. I went to watch Galway last night and left after 75mins because they were so poor but I can't take anything way from Corkhill Celtic who were really up for the game and i find it very funny how they let King and Molloy go to Mervue! Mervue have some good young players on their hands and I can only see them getting better and having a good season. Also I think the fact that John Glynn has returned as manager who I always liked from his time at Cork years ago as a player has helped them along with returning to Fahy's Field.

EA SPORTS CUP SECOND ROUND DRAW MADE

EA SPORTS Cup holders Sligo Rovers have been drawn against non-league surprise packets Cockhill Celtic in the Second Round of the competition.

The Bit O’Red will travel to Donegal to face the Junior side, who shocked Galway United in the First Round on Monday night.

Paul McKinney was credited with a hat-trick in the 3-1 win for the Inishowen peninsula outfit at Terryland Park.

Cockhill Celtic were drawn at home to Paul Cook’s Premier Division stars in Pool Two in the draw at FAI headquarters in Abbotstown today.

The club was formed in 1970 and won the Donegal News Ulster Senior Premier Division crown and League Cup last season. The senior team is managed by Donal O’Brien.

Meanwhile, arguably the tie of the round is the meeting in Pool Three of St Patrick’s Athletic and Airtricity League champions Shamrock Rovers.

The draw for the EA SPORTS Cup Second Round in full:

Pool 1: Limerick v Tralee Dynamos or Waterford United; Wexford Youths v Cork City.

Pool 2: Cockhill Celtic v Sligo Rovers; Derry City v Mervue United

Pool 3: Drogheda United v UCD; St Patrick’s Athletic v Shamrock Rovers.

Pool 4: Monaghan United v Dundalk; Shelbourne v Bohemians

All ties are scheduled for Monday, 25th April 2011. The winners of each tie progress to an open draw at the quarter-final stage.
