In fairness the performances on the pitch will scare more people off coming to the Cross than the remote chance of violence.

No point blaming Neil Prenderville. I wouldnt bring my kids (if I had any) to Turners Cross. It can be very nasty. Especially hateful abuse aimed at players like Alan Reynolds like that banner last season. Sickening.

Prendeville is always looking for a chance to have a go- every city fan knows that. Which makes those who let the club down even more stupid in my eyes. As for the abuse- you hear worse in the street, on the telly and in schoolyards every day- thats why there's a family enclosure too. No need to be so dramatic about it

I invited him to come to the Longford game on friday but he declined my offer as he said he doesn't believe he personally would be safe in the Cross.

He might have a point there, but thats his own doing- remember the lovely song we had for him

The general consensus of nearly everyone who rang/wrote in was that Rovers fans were to blame. Prendeville even said that they really seem like a bad bunch.

Which again leads me back to something I've said all along. We've accused Rovers of ignoring their trouble-making element for years- are we now going to do the same?
