It's only ever had about 7,000 seats though, hasn't it? I suppose terraces are still strictly viable.

who in the hell are this EUFA people keep talking about?
You are currently renting this council pitch. It is your home, in the same way as Dalymount, Tolka, Morton etc etc were when you renting those.
Look, I know I may be on alien territory discussing fairness and ethics with Rovers fans. However, those other grounds you mentioned were decided upon as venues prior to the commencement of the tournaments.
Dundalk FC have acknowledged that they would have had no problem with Tallaght being the venue of the final if that had been announced at the outset of the tournament.

As said before, I hope the final will be the last game played in it. The NI teams are way out of their depth, there are too many games in an already packed calendar, Setanta can't be arsed showing half of them. It's pointless.

Does this really have to turn into a ****ing contest? The moment you bring up moral relativism you've probably elevated this conversation to an intellectual level it doesn't deserve.

What facts?
TC was not named the official venue til after the semi final. It was talked about before the semi that if we won it would be in TC but it wasn't announced. Even if it had been I'm not sure how this would be any fairer? Given it was dependent on us being in the final. It's absolutely no different from this situation with Tallaght.
If you have any actual facts about the finals before that links would be welcome. Given the rubbish being posted I'm skeptical about the claims of them all being fixed before the competition started as claimed above.
althought it has to be tallagh it is unfair as it is ther hoops home ground and nothing will change that
I wish i did not know then what I dont know now
Putting any weight on "precedents" of decisions involving that august body of football decision makers in this country is not particularly wise.
In any case it is probable that the finalists agreed to the arrangements previously. Dundalk are objecting to this unfair advantage and rightly so.
Common sense tells you that the home side has a advantage and a better chance of scooping the additional €20k prizemoney. The fans of the away team also have to stump up extra cash to travel.
If there is no willingness to apply sporting fair play the least that can be done is to provide some financial consideration to Dundalk
