Another Quigley wonder-strike makes it 3-1 to Dundalk.

Is he going for a monopoly of goal of the season nominations?

Good stuff by the LoI clubs so far. I'd like to see Dundalk have their day. The Rover's are creating some rivalry. It'll be interesting to see how much more intense it'll become after these two games.

    A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.
Opportunity lost for new clubs/regions to join the LoI family.

Good win for us tonight...just in the door...main points of the night..we were poor 1st half...the burgers were a rip off...quigley is a class act...and the Cliftonville keeper Duffin(where was josh connolly??) was the worst keeper i have ever seen at this level

Bring on the Rovers(either will do)
Only another 9 titles till Drogheda become pride of county louth!!!

Quigley continues to astound with the quality of his goals. The double tonight takes him to 8 goals in 11 competitive games this season - and every one of them were exceptional. 5 of these in the 5 Setanta games have obviously not figured on TV (he didn't score in the only televised game). On top of that he is credited with about 5 other assists.

He is also benefitting from opposition teams double marking Danny Kearns who has now scored in successive games to add to his hatrick against Linfield.

Roll on the 2nd leg in a fortnight in Oriel

I second that Ezeikial. Quigleys goals for Dundalk have been top notch. His assists have been top quality aswell especially the one for Kearns against UCD. I'm completely biased as a Dundalk fan but for me Kearns and Quigley have been the top performers of the season so far.

I think they have an interest in the comp,(moneywise) honestly dont think that any of their top teams are as good as our own.!!
I would reckon this will be the final year for this comp,if they can think of someway of keeping it going then i would be ahve to say NO !!

Squigs has the makings of a total Dundalk legend if he keeps this up - every one of his goals are top notch!! Sure for the laugh we should play the chap on the wing.....

They're awful. Everyone of them. The Cliftonville side that beat Pats (3-0!) was the worst side we've lost to. With a bit more clinical finishing, we could've had 10. Bohs and UCD were caught in the midst of putting teams together too. I've no doubt, whatsoever, that if the seasons alligned, LOI sides would win every tie played.

For the past 4/5 years mark Quigley has been the most talented player in the league (yes, ahead of the likes of Ndo, Fahey etc). When he turned it on for Pats he was breathtaking to watch. His performance in Sweden against Elfsborg was among the best individual performances I've ever seen.

His head can go at any time though and if he becomes bored/disinterested he can become a liability as Pats and Bohs found out at various stages.

We're probably basking in all the positives at Dundalk at the moment. His talent is colossal.

We pray that the negatives you rightly mention are behind him.

It is a joy to spend the entrance fee to watch him play.

He was certainly a consistent goalscorer at Pat in 2007 and 2008 and then appeared to loose his way (as did the Pats squad in general) in 2009.

Pat Fenlon's notion that he is/was a winger casts a doubt more on Nutsy's judgement then anything else

His body language can be read as bored/disinterested at any time, but he covers a lot of ground and I imagine he is enjoying the role that Ian Foster has given him - although his leg breaking "tackle" on Coughlan last season hints at what you mention

Yeah, his body language is always the same, regardless of whether he's 'up' for it or not. That never concerned me. But he can become disinterested prety quickly if he isn't involved in everything, and if he gets into tht funk, the whole game is lost to him. I think thats what happened him at the start of his Bohs career. Stuck on the wing he wasn't as involved as he felt he should be so he kinda gave up. LIkewise in 2009 for Pats, he gave up a little too quickly for my liking and didn't have a manager to motivate him

SOme might be happy to know that Coughlan is finally recovered from that assault, and is expected to sign back for Pats this week (nearly 11 months later)

Came close to signing for us too at one point a couple of years ago didn't he? Always thought he would have been a big success in Derry. Fingers crossed Zayed can find some form over the coming weeks- I think he could really do with a couple, and soon.

If I'd have travelled to Portadown. Gone into the ground. See Joey Ndo's goal. Left the ground and went straight home Id have been happy. One of those moments that you'd happily make the trip just to see the goal.

He got the ball 20 yards out, middle of the goals, theres nobody to give it to so instead he justs curls/ loops it into the top corner. As someone said - you'd stand in 10 feet of snow to see that fella play football (good man Dooley).
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!
