Virus Protection: Vipre?

I'm getting to that time of year when I have to pay for another year's protection. I've been Norton for the past few years, and was looking at changing to a household protection for all the computers we have, especially as it looks like we'll be changing one (if not two ) during the next 12 months.

I was thinking about trying Vipre, based on some little research. I am inclined to think that any of the bigger virus protections are going to be vaguely similar but am no expert, and I know Vipre are fairly new to the game, but have had very good reviews. Has anyone on here tried it? Is it any good? And if so, how does the household coverage work - just when in the home, or wherever you are?

I can't comment on Vipre, but I've used Avast! antivirus for 3/4 years without any issue whatsoever.

Avast and/or AVG, can't fault either of them for free, simple, straightforward solid protection, which doesn't add ten minutes to your start-up time.

I've been using Microsoft Security Essentials at home for some time and it seems to be very good and very lightweight.

I would never pay for anti-virus. That said, I never get anti-virus. It's all about using your noggin!

I stopped using AVG after a new version sent resource usage sky high.
