I'm more intrigued as to why Termonbarry wiki page and 'Monkey knife fight' are two of the open tabs there.

I'm more intrigued as to why you didn't link the two.

Maybe they're all linked. Maybe there's something big going down in Termonbarry. Maybe there's some sort of monkey named Xano being trained for monkey knife fights in the Purple Onion Art Gallery.
Everyone knows, after all, there's not a huge amount of money to be made in running an art gallery.

The normal rules of economics don't apply in Termonbarry - you know that.

Don't worry, it's never been used in the League of Ireland.

Greater percentage of Manchester United shirts are sold in Dublin than in Manchester.

Seems it's not just Manchester United where this applies..

If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

That seems to just be sports direct sales. It's not taking into account amount of Clubs shirts bought in the clubs own shops. I'm sure if they were added it it would make a huge difference.

For example the Man U Meagastore at the stadium I would image sells hundreds of jerseys at nearly every match.

Yeah I only copped that after I posted it. Would make sense given the general availability of Villa shirts. Another fascinating bit of journalism from Balls.

With the premiership coming to Friday nights, is it possible for the FAI to ban the showing of football from another association on Irish T.V, just like the rule that the english F.A have on La liga Football, when its not allowed to be shown between 2.15 and 5.15 on a Saturday

Have you got more info on this English "rule"? Is it in law or what?

Anyway, banning certain content from being beemed onto people's televisions isn't the solution. Depriving people of choice would only breed discontent. It's about convincing them; not coercing them.

Its do-able, but not actually workable. The games would still be shown on Sky Sports in the UK and the workaround would be so easy that it'd be pointless.

Not to mention the bad PR the FAI would get for denying Irish fans choice (and they would get bad PR). Best the LOI could hope for is a bit of compensation like the Original early 90s sky deal. Even that is unlikely seeing as Sky has shown plenty of live games on Friday nights in the past

Bit of info here in an article last October about why coverage of Real v Barca on Sky Sports started at 5:15 - 15 minutes after kick off (by which time the score was already 1-0)

  19. Thanks From:

Ah, yes, that one. That broadcasting law prohibits the showing of any live football (including English football) between 2:45 and 5:15 on a Saturday; it doesn't apply specifically to La Liga or foreign football.

I think such a law/provision/whatever would be a spectacular own goal for the LOI's reputation. Not that it really matters anyway.
