DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
Seems strange that Jutkiewicz (now 34) never got anywhere near the Ireland senior team, even for a 'let's have a look at him' half a game. Never made the grade at PL level, but 94 Championship goals before today's outing.
Was he ever actually confirmed as being eligible? He's a bit of a carthorse anyway. Decent second tier player, but no better than what we had at the time, if even that.
Never actually heard of the guy before. But typically enough, I see he scored again tonight
Apparently Martin O'Neill was considering him in 2016, but I guess he was happy with Walters, Long and Murphy, while giving some caps to McGoldrick and Aiden O'Brien: https://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...-35314042.html

Has retired after nine seasons and 61 goals for Birmingham. Half of those goals came in 2018/19 and 2019/20 - we've capped players for less I guess.
Not sure it was ever fully confirmed he was eligible, but I suppose it doesn't matter now.
He has an Irish grandparent apparently (though the link wiki gives for that is to an Indo article which quotes him talking about his Polish/Lithuanian grandparent)
No indication he was interested either of course. It seems Martin O'Neill spoke to him in 2016 but nothing came of it.
