And didn't make it there. He won POTY in a crap division 1 team, and undeservedly so imo. The "local lad" factor had a lot to do with it imo.
Ridiculous comment. Not like he's just won the Premier Division or anything.
Mick's at his level now, and he'd get eaten alive in the Premier.
Ok let's leave my enda Stevens comment aside for a minute but how on earth can you say he didn't deserve his award he was our most hard working and consistent performer there was no one close to him IMO , as for enda Stevens he won the premier div title cause he was lucky enough to be in a good tram nothing more he's no good

As a matter of interest, how many were in Drom the last night?
At the end of the day it doesn't really matter if anyone on here thinks he is or isn't good enough. He has offers by all accounts so people in the game see potential in him. As for my own opinion, I wouldn't expect him to go straight into a first team at one of the bigger clubs but he's only going to get better with more experience, coaching and playing with better players so I'd think he can make a career for himself.

This complicates things. To the letter of the law, the first time a player signs a professional contract, the club he joins is due to pay a compensation to all the clubs he was with between the ages of 12 and 23 or until it's ajudged that his developement has finished. Either way, if he signed pro forms with Pats, for example, they'd have to pay us a certain amount to be calculated and Bohs perhaps a bit more. Of course, both could waive any such payment if it was only nominal for the sake of allowing him further his career
Marco Tardelli's red and black,
Red and black, red and black.
Marco Tardelli's red and black,
He hates Athlone.
I'm not disputing the fact that he was one of our better players this season, but let's be honest, he had very little competition. Mark Salmon was more deserving of the award imo, but as I said already, I have a feeling the "local lad" factor worked in Mick's favour.
He's not a very good defender for someone who plays LB. His pace gets him out of a lot of situations that his poor defending gets him into in the first place. If he made those mistakes in the Premier Division then he'd get roasted all day long.

he has what most players dont, consistance. if you cant see this well then there is no hope. how many times did you see the player he was marking beat him and get a cross in because i cant remember seeing it too much this season at all!
Is this a serious thread?? Seriously Mick Lee and Mark Salmon were our most consistent players and Mick pipped it for the award, well deserved in my eyes. As for him not been good enough to get in a premier team who cares he plays for LTFC thats all that matters.
Kieran your Enda Stevens comment is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, he kept Danny Murphy out who was the best left full in the league a couple of seasons back, Stevens is still a young player and has just won the league. I am gonna presume you think he is crap cause of his rating in Football Manager and not on how he has actually performed in REAL life.
As for this season great to finish on a high, we got 6 points more than last year which is an improvement irrelevant of some very poor results. People seem to forget that this was in a league that had Derry, Cork, Waterford and Shels. Im expecting more improvement next year as its the first time since we were relegated that we have kept a manager.
If god wanted us to play football in the clouds he would have put grass up there!
He is the weak link in football manager but no thats not the reason lol

In fairness they'll have a bigger budget next year more than likely. It doesn't make them an unstoppable force but they should be better.
