I think the fee is officially undisclosed, but it's around about �500k. Scunthorpe had a �650,000 bid accepted (Sammo turned it down) and Derby had a �425,000 bid rejected. So somewhere in between is where I'd say it ended up.

I didn't suggest Derry would profit. I'm just thinking the money would (presumably) go to clearing Wellvan's debts. Which, would, of course, help the current Derry City (if only in perception etc)

It'd be horrifying to think that nobody in football gained from the sell on fee

As you said its horrible to think that football cant benefit from a football transfer but in this case, it surely cant be the case, unfortunate or otherwise.

He's one of the most over rated footballers ever to play LOI. Good striker of a ball but a complete pussy, and would not be able to handle the physical side of any UK league
