Smile Ist Win of the season

It had to happen eventually, first win and off the bottom, from what I was told of the game James Sugrue MOTM.

    Thank God or whatever!

Anybody at match, who could fill us in! Damn these exams, i haven't seen them play in ages. Finny being back seems to have made all the difference! Well done the blues! I am so very relieved that we have a win under our belts, maybe now we can start to really start playing.

A long overdue win, great goal by finny and overall we played well.Played like a team for the first time this season they all fought hard for each other.Alan barry being taken off at halftime was a strange one thought he did well enough first half don't think he was injured.Mike kerley came on at halftime and played right back and did fairly well,Steve o mahony went right midfield and mernagh went up front with cp o brien who played well second half.It was good to see gareth cooney back playing he has put on some weight and did'nt look as good a player as when he was with us but after been out for so long thats to be expected i suppose.

Good to get the first win, Mike Kerley was happy enough with it, heard his interview on 95fm this evening.

LFC10, exams, tell me about it! Thank god it's my final year in college as i'm absolutely sick of it. These exams, even though they are the most important I will have done to date, are just an inconvenience between me and my summer at the moment. Can't get motivated to study at all and they start on Friday All my mates are in the same boat, must be the fine weather!

    A quote from eleven-a-side.com:

"Limerick FC climbed off the bottom of the First Division table with their first victory of the campaign - indeed, their first in almost six months - against fellow strugglers Kilkenny City at Buckley Park on Saturday night."

Don't mention that the six month sincluded aclose season. Lies, damn lies and statistics.

Great to hear gareth cooney is back. We really need someone strong in midfield. Hopefully with a little bit of match practice he'll be back on form. he could make all the difference. I thought, from the few games at the start of last season, that he was an outstanding player. I feel so much better about this season now. Come on the REAL blues against waterford!!

Cooney isn't back with us, he's with Kilkenny.

    Teams:
Kilkenny City: Murphy; Curran, McCormack, M Andrews, N Andrews, Mallon, Mulcahy, Cooney, Gorman, Wood, Carew.
Subs: Comerford for Carew (half time), Mahern for Mallon (70 mins), Coogan for McCormack (87 mins).

Limerick: Fyffe, O'Mahoney, Aherne, Molan, Finucane, Sugure, Conway, Cosgrave, Mernagh, O'Brien, Barry.
Subs: Kerley for Barry (half time), Hughes for Cosgrave (78 mins).

    Referee: H McDermott (Dublin).

Was that Hilda McDermott that refereed the game? Hopefully not, as I don't agree at all with women referees, sorry, but there is such a thing as womens football. She should stick to that. What's the world coming to with all this OTT political correctness? Next we'll have women wanting to play with the men professionally. Wait for it.

A draw against the Deise will be enough. They drew with Kilkenny in their first League Cup game so a draw against the Deise would leave us needing a win against Kilkenny to go through to the knock-out stages. And we all know how LFC love the league cup.

Waterford put out a very inexperienced side for their first game at home to Kilkenny. If they do that again I'd give us a fair chance. My worry is that having gotten a point from the first game they might bring back their usual starters to book their place in the last 8. Anyways, we shall have to wait and see.

Hope Paddy Purcell plays and hope that he gets a warm reception too.

No sarcasm there by the way, Paddy gave a lot to Limerick FC and I for one certainly won't chastise him.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

    Hi Lads:

Heard that Waaaaterford are only bringing 3 of their regulars tonight and Paddy will not be one of them. A win here and we should qualify dfor the last 8. It's a regional draw so prob means we will get Cork City in the quarter finals....nice one!!!!

    See ye tonight

,I think Waterford will try and test
our defence right from the start to and try and get an early goal.
hopefully the defence can hold tight. It would be great for confidance
    if we won tonight...SUPER BLUES..
