2nd yellow looked very harsh though.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

No, we went to town on that one. It's now ours.

Hatswell's two yellows were yellows. Both times Gary went by him and he tripped him. It was just unfortunate that it was two of his first three or four tackles. Could have happened any stage of the game. McCabe was also caught for the penalty, even though the Dundalk player touches the ball, he still trips McCabe.

MNS even said it was a foul, maybe harsh yellow but definite foul. Besides, Dundalk players were targetting McCabe in the hope he'd lose the head again like he did last time in Dundalk, the 2nd yellow for Hatswell wasn't his 2nd foul on McCabe...MNS doesn't show that.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

Maybe it was the instruction to target him I don't know. Isn't it also possible that Cook told your players to go down easily in the hope that we'd get a man sent off like we did a couple of hundred times last season.

No, is this not the Sligo/Louth game?

FFS, he takes the ball as well but doesn't get enough on it to merit it not being a penalty.

There was no "targeting" of McCabe. He was getting a lot of possession and attacking the full back. What do you expect defenders to do? Stand back a let him run past them. No. You expect them to tackle for the ball.

To be honest, the footage from MNS was was unclear. It was hard to see if the second yellow card was a foul or not. However, even if it was a foul (and McCabe did seem to go down after getting past Hatswell), it wasn't a yellow card.

At least MNS cleared up the penalty. It was a superb tackle, a clean strike on the ball.

You would have to ask yourself why the hell he dived in like that to tackle in the box though?

You know, Rule 17a, subsection Y: As long as you make a bit of contact with the ball, you're allowed to plough the legs from under an opponent.*

    * Only applies when playing on plastic toy pitches

As a neutral, there is no way it was a penalty. He got the ball, even Sligo fans have accepted that. And he got the ball before any contact with the player.

never could accept that "he got the ball ref" shout after a tackle .if the tackle was potentiially dangerous then it matters not if he was lucky or not.
I wish i did not know then what I dont know now

Not a bogey team in Galway though. They can't easily beat youse again. A draw on the other hand through a last minute debatable penalty..

Tell all the Bohs you know
that we've gone and won two-in-a-row
and it's not gonna be three
and it's not gonna be four
it's more likely to be 5-1.

Whether or not it was a sendning off why was Foster banging on after the game about his full-back not been allowed to make 2 tackles only 39 mins in??Like surely the without doubt the first one is a yellow and when a player is on a yellow he has to be careful hence the yellow card been known as a 'caution'. Now the ref seems to interpert the 2nd yellow as been a similar offence to the first one which everyone seems to be in agreement was a yellow(again bearing in mind the dundalk fans seem to think there was minimal contact)but it doesnt matter if its the 39th, 59th or 89th minute he has to give him the yellow card if he deems it to be another bookable offence.

Talk about a storm in a tea cup.
Some of the decisions were debateable but none of them were out and out wrong, they may be perceived as harsh or strictly sticking to the letter of the law.
But the whole conspiracy drivel Louth4Sam is spewing out here is ridiculous, as a team we hold possession, Dundalk cant deal with it and so make more rash tackles than usual and thus drawing more fouls than usual.
Our lads get their free kicks and Dundalk players get their yellows, our lads dont go out fo their way to get Dundalk booked but if they are victim to rash tackles they will get what they can from them.
Its smart football, not cheating, jesus christ build a bridge and get over it.
Someone could easily be on here bitching and moaning about your teams "cheating" over their over physical style or them rileing up Mc Cabe earlier in the season etc, its just different styles of football, none of it cheating as such.
