Call to arms for the Bohs game.

I won't be there but our recent form in Dalymount and in the league suggest we can get a result which would continue our good form and the poor form of Kenny's Bohs. All town fans should arrive well oiled and get behind the team at Dalymount. Bohs team and fans will feel the pressure and we shouldn't let them get comfortable! Kenny in.

there are a number of nails already in his coffin and i think we should bring the hammer on friday night to drive home the last one !!!! i shall arrive but not well oiled ( not a good way to drive to wicklow afterwards to do a wedding )

The most welcome sight so far in the 2004 campaign is that three of the Premier Division's top four are provincial clubs. Shels apart, could the Dublin dominance be coming to an end? Fourth-placed Longford Town have led the way in recent seasons, what with the impressive development of Flancare Park and the club's rise from First Division nonentities to last season's FAI Cup winners.

Ironically, they could be about to bring intolerable pressure to bear on one of the people responsible for that progress. Stephen Kenny came to prominence during an almost fairytale-like time in charge of Longford Town and was deservedly offered the vacant managerial post at Bohemians in 2001.

Next Friday at Dalymount Park, Bohemians host Longford in a game that The Gypsies simply must win if the storm clouds gathering over Phibsboro are to scatter. Bohs have yet to win at home this season and that's the main reason why The Gypsies are languishing in mid-table and well adrift of leaders Shelbourne.

Football can be confounding. Sometimes it slaps you in the face when you least expect. Before the season started, Bohs looked the business after signing Tony Grant and James Keddy from Shamrock Rovers. But so far, neither Grant nor Keddy has set Dalymount alight.

Add in a series of injuries to a relatively small squad and some disappointing performances from key players and the result is - well - poor results.

Not noted for their patience, Bohs fans are far from happy with their team's modest start. But no-one in football has a guaranteed formula for success and that's part of the game's attraction. As in life, the truest test of character comes at a time of crisis. We'll know a lot more about Bohemians and Stephen Kenny after Friday.
