    North Korea

A change of power, it seems, maybe. Kim-Jong-un is being lined up to take over with Kim Jong-Il supposedly less mobile now after a couple of strokes.

The son wasn't officially known about until a few years ago. He may have been born in 1982, 1983 or 1984. Some think he's had an education in Switzerland and is fluent in English. It really is amazing just how little we've managed to permeate into North Korea.

But I suppose the main issue is will the change of power do anything for North Korea? If he's had a western education, will there be any changes in policy, and an improvement in things in North Korea? Or will the son be more in the Uday/Qusay Hussain mould?

No change of power for a while, no change in NK, imho.

Reading a bit in the IT yesterday they were suggesting that the Brother in Law is actually second in command in the moment, Kim Jong Ils' sisters husband Jang.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!

I'd be very surprised if the change in command lead to any change whatsoever in the country's policies. Kim Jong Il wants to keep the dynasty going, and even if the son has other ideas, I'd say a number of 'advisors' would persuade him otherwise. I'd agree with kingdom though, that KimJong Il' brother in law would wield an awful lot of power in the country.

The sister who has just been reported to have been promoted to a four-star general doesn't look like someone to be trifled with.

See half way down the page.

The eldest son looks like a bundle of laughs, but I wonder will the succession pass without a few bullets in heads. The brother in law won't want to let go so easily and it could be that he's running the army, ie country, right now. I'm surprised the Dear Leader is only 68, for some reason I thought he was a lot older.

You're probably thinking of the Great Leader, who's 98 and counting.

I think you'll find he's still head of state.

Yeah, I'd be fairly sure people's ages stop counting when they're dead.

I don't think North Korea really cares what you think.

Sure Kim Jong Il is a buddy. Where do you think I learned my trade?

Oh crap! Before we know it, there'll be roving power cuts to the various forums, the Sligo fans will be starving and Dahamsta's fat, retarded cousin will be moderating the Bohs-Rovers threads.

Against that, we'll have plenty of threads about how lucky we are to be supporting the LoI when things are going to pot with our supposedly more illustrious neighbouring leagues.

    Oh, wait...

I'm sure many on other forums would argue that I'm my own fat, retarded cousin. They're charming really.
