Also forgot to mention, City fans should still boycott Fagans ... the pre and post match pints can be had in Kennedys next door.
Shelbourne v Cork City on the 1st Oct ... how do Shels fans think they'll do against City? We are level on points with 49 points each right now. Waterford are on 54 going into the game next week when they play Monaghan United.

Shels are 3 ahead of us after the Athlone game.
Realistically to have any chance of keeping the promotion fight going we need to win. I expect at the most to get a draw though. Our record against the teams above us just isn't good enough.
Should be a good game though
I reckon there will be a fair few going up for this one. Its the game that makes our season really.

Preview of Shelbourne Game. Dunne: “We’re going to Tolka to win.”
Cork City travel to Tolka Park tomorrow night to take on Shelbourne in a fixture City manager Tommy Dunne says is now the biggest game of the season for his side. Speaking ahead of training this evening, Dunne said: “We have to get a result tomorrow night if we are to have any chance of claiming a play-off spot. Tolka Park is a tough place to go at the best of times, but this game has become a real ‘six-pointer’.” We’ve been very good on the road this season, apart maybe from the defeat in Monaghan, and we will be going there with the intention of winning the game.”
On their previous visit to Tolka Park, City claimed a one all draw, while Shelbourne left Turner’s Cross with a 1-0 win in July, and Dunne says he believes it should be a good game in Dublin tomorrow night: “There hasn’t been much difference between the sides in our two previous meetings. I think in the first game at Tolka it was quite an even game for the first 70 minutes, with Shelbourne being the better team for the remainder of the game. They won one nil at Turner’s Cross, but I felt we created enough chances to have got something out of the game. Both teams will be going for a win tomorrow night, and I believe we can look forward to a good game.”

Shelbourne -v- Cork City FC
A titanic effort was required for Shelbourne to force their way back into playoff contention, but just a spot below them Cork have mounted their own charge for promotion. A win for the Leesiders this Friday (8pm) would see them go level on points with Shelbourne in fourth place in the First Division table, something which has inspired Cork manager Tommy Dunne to claim that this is the biggest game of the season.
“We have to get a result tomorrow night if we are to have any chance of claiming a play-off spot" says Dunne. "Tolka Park is a tough place to go at the best of times, but this game has become a real six- pointer". The last time the two sides met in Drumcondra it finished 1-1, and Dunne says that his side have been in fine away form all season. "We’ve been very good on the road this season, apart maybe from the defeat in Monaghan, and we will be going there with the intention of winning the game.”

Didn't make the game myself but Shels won the game two nil. What was the game like? Were Shels worth it? How did City do?

We were good for the win alright. Very good performance.
On another note re Fagans, while I was waiting in the bus I noted a gaggle of city fans heading in, banners and all in hand, for a scoop.
