He's been more advanced for Everton the last few games, first ahead of McCarthy/Barry and then McCarthy/Osman on Sunday. For our purposes, I think it suits us better as he's one of few players we have who can pick a lock (metaphorically, although he is from Derry).

Was kind of hoping he would be ruled out so we could try something a bit more progressive against Poland. Ah well.

Linked with a move to West Brom today, where he could link up with McClean.

Tets, he was on our flight home after the game and as I live near him and had seen a For Sale sign outside his house I asked if he was leaving Stoke.

He said he's not leaving Stoke and the Estate Agents had stuck the sign up at the wrong house !! (and that's how rumours start....)

So at the moment, he reckons he's going nowhere.

Of course, tomorrow's paper will probably carry the back page headline, 'West Brom Walters'

He had a very good season for Stoke so why would they sell. But who knows its football.

Greater odds of Walters leaving than Walters staying; linked with West Brom and Hull.

Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!

He's in his 30's. He's getting a bit slower and not the type of player you need if you want to kick on. I notice Stoke have put a bid in for Xherdan Shaqiri. They might need to off load two or three top earners to bring in one or two top quality players. Plus Walters mightn't be the type to sit on the bench and pick up a wage.

But I hope WBA choose a player called Bridge instead of Walters. Just so I can use this: "WEST BROM CHOOSE BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WALTERS!"

    Excellent..copyright that.

And Kingdom, Jon Walters lives on Merseyside (Wirral to be specific) so wouldn't be commuting from Stoke.

Ah thanks Des, yeah that's a handy spin down to Stoke from the Wirral, I've done it a few times.

    Stoke chairman assuages Walters' concerns.

Realise he has limitations and is no spring chicken - but 1.5 mm is a bit of a derogatory offer for a seasoned premiership and INTL player who can play in a few positions and has been a very good servant to both club and country

On 18 August 2010 Walters joined Premier League side Stoke City for an initial £2.75 million fee on a four-year contract
Well going by that it seems fair enough. He would have been 26 then he is 31 now.

However both figure seem low, however I guess it depends how near the end of your contract you are.

Now sure what contract he is on, the initial one must have been extended.

Stoke striker Jon Walters has agreed to a one-year extension on his contract, keeping him at the Britannia Stadium until 2015.
So going by that his contract ran out 3 days ago

Bad move by Norwich rejecting it!! £1.5 million is better than £0.

it would be a move up moving to Norwich 2 point up

but it would be a sideways more as the are nearly on the same latitude.

I think Stoke is further north.

It would like going to a Dantes Fires sales conference if you are familiar with Alan Partridge.

    Got to love Walters here:
In my eyes if they valued me it would be there and it’s not there so … talk’s cheap when it comes to things like these and I’ll leave it for the men behind the scenes to sort out.Of course I’d be disappointed if I had to leave the club. We’ve improved every year and I can give you every stat for those years and I’m probably in the top two for everything.
