I'd much rather have Kilbane than Ward in at left back, at least you know what you're getting. I haven't been impressed at all by Ward, he looks like a total joker the few times I've seen him play.
I agree on Ward being the best choice, just if Trap watches the DVD of the tottenham game his chances will be reduced. It's a no brainer though, we have one left back playing week in and out in the premier league and he's not being selected probably because he missed some training camps. Those camps are where Trap instills his system in the player's minds so the importance of them can't be underestimated.

I'd love to know what the situation is with regard to McCarthy given that he' s a regular in the Premiership and also what's going on with Wilson and Coleman.
Surely these lads are every bit as good if not better than Long, Keogh, Green and O'Dea.
I'm seriously concerned about McCarthy at this stage.
We need to be giving these lads experience.

I'm not sure you're comparing like with like there - O'Dea is a centre half who can play left full, unlike any of the players you've mentioned that are omitted.
I'm not worried about Coleman not being in the squad. I think his chances of breaking into the Everton team are better if he stays at home, even though Trap could surely give him a few tips to improve his defending. McCarthy and Wilson are paying the price for missing friendlies and training camps - the manager has never brought new players in for a competitive match, so it's true to form that they'll have to wait for the next friendly (if fit) to impress.
Andrews an injured player named - shocked to my core ! not
The wheels will fall off after these two games bug time
Green is NOT an international footballer , its so embrassing that he wont he call in regular premier league players( Mc Carthy, Coleman , Ward, Delap etc)
and no one please mutter on that they are not expericened enough GREEN was not experienced ands he threw him in because "he can tackle and break up play " we shouldnt have to break up play we should be the ones trying to play football not anti footnall
Trap is a over payed jumped up old fool
It was a bit unlucky, Hutton actually had a really bad last touch before Ward went in, it brought the ball towards Ward, he thought he could get it but Hutton was that split second faster. I think if Hutton's touch had of been better and not bought the ball slighty towards Ward he would not ave tried to make the challenge.
I'm not comparing like with like - what I'm saying is how can players who are better be left out while others can get into to the squad.
Cunningham is another with dubious credentials i.e. cant even get on the bench at City- so there's your Coleman argument gone.
So bloody what if they missed the training camps - they proved that they were not fit at the time - they're available now and on merit should be in the squad.
Trappatoni often uses the argument if they're not playing regular football then they wont be in the squad so he's contradicting himself.
Maybe I'll be proved wrong but if we dont get at least 3 points from the next two games a lot of people will be asking questions.
The performances against Armenia and Andorra were at best average and for a lot of the time poor. OK we got the 6 points but if we play like that against better teams we'll be found out.

But that's the definition of a bad tackle - misjudging your chances of getting to the ball and diving in.
But they're not going to play anyway. At least in the friendlies they have a decent shout of seeing game time. I would have had McCarthy and Wilson in earlier squads too but we all know how Trap works and they were never going to be brought in for a competitive game ahead of other guys who've done the course and know the system.

Squad as expected... I think the Norway friendly we'll see some of the new faces.
A lot of the squad wont play either and dont have the potential that some of those omitted have.
Surely the time for these players to get the experience is to be involved with the competitive squads where they'll be at the coalface and not in friendly squads where the atmosphere is bound to be more relaxed.
My opinion is that since Brady has left the setup the scouting has gone to pot and Trap is taking a lazy approach to squad selection and eyeing up new players.

i think we r gona be routed by both these teams . russia will be very eager to make amends and Slovakia are at a all time high, It was the same crap under Kerr lazy picking routine and no element of surprise, the attack and midfield are so toothless and well known that no half decent side would fear playing us.
Should Andrews be unfit, Green is the only player that I would have alongside Whelan for these 2 games.
Possibly Josh, but anybody else in there means a free fast lane through CM for the opposition, space which even Andorra could exploit.
Green has a defined job to do and he does it well enough, at least better than anybody else would. He fits in there like a glove. He is made for our team. Howl at the moon all you want.
