    New Ireland Away Shirt 2010-2012

    Just saw this on FSC.
Have to say I really really like this.
Though it goes without saying I would like a sponsorless one.

That jersey is indeed beautiful. I'd love to see a blue away jersey at some stage.

I have in my wardrobe a navy training top from around 2002 that was the same template as our world cup shirt. Have always wanted us to revert to blue home shirts.

Can't see us ever having a blue away due to the similarities with green.

Pretty sure I too had that shirt. Did it have white panels under the pit going down the side? It was a beautiful top.
That was more navy though, I mean a "St Patrick" blue.

Sponsorless ones on sale through Umbro at YBIG for €90 a pop, bit rich for my blood but if you fancy one there's the link.

Blue was our original colour, before the FAI split from the IFA.

The FAI adopted green in 1921, and the north went to green in 1931.

I always thought that green was adopted a lot earlier than that.
Surely the early clashes against Scotland in soccer and rugby would have seen to that?
