Athenry .v. St. Paul's FC
Not many goal chances in a dour game which ended 0-0 after extra time.
As darkness and heavy rain descended, Athenry won the penalty shootout 4-3 with Kieran Kilkelly saving two. All penalties were on target and St. Paul's keeper saved from Seamie Crowe.

Cavan Town are in Div 1 of the Meath & DL, they lost 5 league games so far this season, Hibs have a great chance.
St Michaels at home to Wicklow Rovers should go through too, Rovers are in the 2nd tier of the Wicklow League
Pike should have too much for Kilmallock and Bellurgan
What is the standard like in Wexford? Could North End and New Ross prove to be surprise packages?? Carrick Utd are a strong side, so I'd give them the edge. any of Carrick Rovers/Castleisland/New Ross, home advantage to tell.
I'd like to see Ballinasloe progress, great boost to the Roscommon League if they did.

Cavan lost games when main players were playing GAA, all are back now - look at their home results in the cup thus far - very impressive - they will beat Hibs at home. Athenry will test town fully should be the game of the round. Not sure about Wexford soccer, New Ross have a good set up and have reached this stage before. North End are unbeaten in the league thus far a trip to an experanced Carrick might prove a step too far, Pike, Saints and Killester look the strongest.

St Michaels 1-0 Avenue Utd
First of all I d like to congatulate st michaels on the win and we at Avenue utd wish them all the best in the competition. The game itself was decent and played in good spirit and the only gripe we have is we felt before the goal was scored our centre forward was pulled down about 25/30 yards from goal and when the foul wasnt given saints went on the break and the goalscorer was offside for the goal as the lad said to me just after the game. Other than that it was a 50/50 game which could have gone either way. The injury to our captain brought a stoppage of about 25 mins which didnt help us at all as he was dominating at the back and at that stage we were on top in the game. St Michaels are a quality side and will be hard to beat in the competition, we just wanted to prove that the 6-0 result 2 weeks earlier in the munster junior was a freak result. Also a special mention for our left back Dylan Casey who at only 15 years old was outstanding and for me marked saints quick young winger out of the game.

FAI Umbro Junior Cup 6th Round
Westport United 0 v Ballinasloe Town 1 AET
Ballinasloe Town’s Mark Duffy extra time goal sent Ballinasloe Town into the last sixteen of the FAI Umbro Junior Cup the first time in the club history. This game saw two of the big guns in Connacht football go head to head in the FAI Umbro Junior Cup 6th Round in Westport. Westport United have already had their hands on the cup in 2005, United did make hard work in their last round game with a two one win over Sligo and Leitrim league side City United. Ballinasloe Town go into this game has the league leaders of the Roscommon and District League and had a extra time win over Cork Douglas Hall. It was Westport United who started the better of the two sides and on 4 minutes United,s David Hoban had a great chance after some good build up play put saw his shot go over the bar. Ballinasloe Town started to get into the game when midfielder Mark Duffy pick the ball up just outside United penalty box but saw his shot go just wide of the post. This was a very even cup tie with both sides having good half chances to open the scoring, has the half went on it look like it would United who would take the lead, when United Vinny O’Malley ran into the box and with a right foot shot making the Ballinasloe Town keeper to make a finger tip save to keep his side the level. Ballinasloe Town started the second the much stronger for the two sides; United did have a chance to open the scoring when United Kevin Joyce from a corner on the right hand side saw his volley go just over the bar. Has the half went on it was on the cards it would go into extra time. But in the final minutes of the game it was Ballinasloe Town Mark Duffy who had the best chance to seal the tie, with the ball bouncing about in the United box, it only needed a touch and the ball would have been in the net, it easier to score than miss. That miss sent the game into extra time. In the first half of extra time both sides had chance to open scoring with end to end football. Ballinasloe Town had a stone wall penalty claim turn down by the referee, but it was Ballinasloe Town who broke the deadlock with just two minutes on the clock the ball was played into United penalty box and the United defenders could not clear their lines and it was Town’s Mark Duffy who fire the ball into the net to send Ballinasloe Town into dream land and put the Roscommon and District League on the map. After the game Ballinasloe Town manager Enda Concannon said it was one of the best displays from his team all season and has put Roscommon soccer on the map.

Anybody have any info on Wicklow Rovers?
They seem to have come out of nowhere, they have never reached this stage of the FAI Junior and face St. Micheals in the last 16 of the FAI Junior and from what ive heard they are in the last 8 of the Leinster Junior cup and havnt been beaten in their last 15 games, is there any truth in this?
St. Micheals have them on their own patch and it is on a Sunday I believe, they might think this is an advantage to them as Wicklow play on a Saturday but they might have a tougher task on their hands than first expected?
If theres any shocks going to happen in the last 16, this is where its most likely to happen!
