Alan Barry put Pike 1 up with a good right footed shot across the keeper in off the post. Keith Harnett made it 2 with probably the goal of the game, Cross from Borris Hartnett came across goal and flicked his header near post past the keeper. 2-0 Half time. Took both teams along time to settle in the first half, Pike had a few chances and took 2, don't think from my memory that Fairview had a decent chance first half.

All changed around second half, Fairview got a goal via a Chucka free kick to pull one back, Pike held tough and managed to grab a goal against the run of play from a Hartnett header again. Took the wind out of the Fairview sails a small bit I believe. Then McGarry tacked on a very unlucky OG, the keeper getting caught out of position. 4-1 Pike. Game over really. J.Grant pulled one back, but Pike ran out the last 2-3mins for the 4-2 win. As I said previously and which wasn't meant as a slight, I believe it's the shortest reign of FAI champions in the competition, taking into account the final was on alot later than usual last season as well.

I cant see the view beating Pike in any games this season, I have to say the view were terrible or pike outclassed them either 1 or the other, fairs play to pike best of luck in the rest of the fai, hope ye win it. it looked to me as if the view were afraid of pike to day, did anyone else think that.

it was a dull affair to say the least...fairview had some players that just werent good enough..tommy barrett and kelliher are overated imo..grant should have been starting without a doubt.fairview had ten subs and apart from grant they were afraid to put on any one of them...gavin o shea not up to standard either...sayin that i cannot see pike winning the fai this season..

    Cool

enjoyed the game but must say very disappointed with fairview, thought they really poor especially in the 1st half.agree with posters on the front two,had no pace or control to trouble pike and looked unfit to me,was,n grant playing all along.views midfield totally outclassed bar a spell in the 2nd half .big call by pike to leave out enright, but they have real quality in their squad.view might have had 10 subs but most not up to it.btw fairview fai youth champs had they any in their 21 today?is it true fairviews manager was,n there,i thought purcell was the boss.

As a neutral with no affiliation to any Limerick club, I think this is an unfair comment. Whether it was for a month, three months or a year, the record books will show 2010 F.A.I. Junior Cup winners were Fairview Rangers.

no there was none of the youth team last year in the panel for today..think its tough on the young lads coming through seeing fairview signing so many players and not giving them a chance, purcell was on the sideline today but stewie fitz is the manager and jason was only giving a hand

Whats your problem exactly? The man asked for a summary, I gave him one.

And I don't think Rooney will be in Pike's range with the amount of "Supporters" slipping in the golf course side. A few got mightily insulted when asked to contribute.
