    Shelboune

Last gasp equaliser by Greg salvaged a point for the Youths in warm and breezy Ferrycarrig today. With Hopper and Aidan injured and Shane D suspended, Wexford started with a number of surprising changes with Packie, Martin Kehoe, Wolfie, Anto, Deano. Ben Ryan, Daniel O'Flynn, Greg, Kevin and Muzzi and Gary up front. Anto had an early chance for the Youths when he shot over when the ball broke to him in the box from a freekick. Shels then had a chance when a good cross hit Packie at the near post but he grabbed it at the second time of asking. Gary was then put clean through but a bad contact meant that his shot was saved easily enough. Goal then came for Shels when a free kick was nodded on in the box and Ian Ryan stabbed it home from about six yards out. Nil-one at half-time.

Wexford had some early pressure in the second half without creating anything and game died a bit with both sides resorting to the long ball too much. Youths brought on Danny and Robert Dempsey early on in the half while Gareth McCurtain came on later when Noel switched to 3-4-3 with Robert, Danny and Gary all staying up front. About midway through the half a smashing shot by Shels from 30 yards was palmed away by Packie. Youths didn't look like getting the equaliser until, in injury time, a long throw into the Shels box wasn't cleared and it bounced just beyond the far post where Greg got his foot round it to steer it home. Overall, a moderate enough game with Wolfie and Anto doing well in the middle of the back four and Daniel O'Flynn doing very well in the centre of midfield. Big and mobile with a good touch he will do really well if he can develop from here. About 320 at it.
