they're very organised, limiting space for movement, and to make a shot.
very physical too, kicking lumps out of Doyle, and doubling up on McGeady when he's in possession. Can see us making something from a set piece
Green's been poor - has plenty of energy and bite but he's misplaced 3/4 five yard passes. I'm putting it down to debut nerves. Lawrence was one of our best players in the first 15 and looks knackered now. Kilbane looks beat for pace by their right winger. I'm very nervous. Though they look fairly porous at the back and Keane is seeing a lot of the ball, would like to see him and Doyle link a little better.
Ou-est le Centre George Pompidou?
Keane was certainly taken down in the box but I think the ref would argue he wouldn't have gotten to that ball anyway (not that it really matters, a foul is a foul)
Aside from Whelan I think the midfield have been pretty bad

Am looking for old Irish matches on VHS, PM me if you have some and I'll upload them here
Armenians are closing us down very quickly when we're on the ball. Not giving our midfielders any time or space. Their defenders have a tendency to boot the ball away, so we're getting a lot of territory. There's definitely a goal in this for us, we could be two up. Thought Whelan should have at least got that shot on target.
Must say that O'Shea looks by far the most composed irish player. Green and Kilbane are not very impressive. Doyle and Keane working well imo. Was the offside goal really offside? My stream couldnt see it in the reply. Cmon the lads anyway, im shouting from Egypt!
We look the better side. I can see us getting a 1-0 0r a 2-0
their technique looks light years ahead of ours! especially in the middle of the pitch.
zombie/thread killer..
i agree, but they are pretty dangerous when the break.
It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up.

We have had a couple of good chances and haven't taken them. Heat, pitch are definetely playing a part but as soon as we started to knock the ball around near the end of the half we started to put them under real pressure. What I don't like to see is Doyle (who has been excellent)out wide left passing into the box. This really should be Kilbanes last game. He is just too slow and will cost us. It is also affecting the way McGeady plays. Lawerence looks knackered and he will have to come off as well.
gibson would have buried that glenn whelan chance before the break.

Gibson for Green may improve things.
McGeady needs to see more of the ball.
Gilt edged chance missed by Robbie.
6/10. Not great but not too bad.
Wimbledon.
Please stop flapping and moaning Robbie. Your just going to pi** off the officials. Just concentrate on putting your chances away. Our MF has been awful. Lawrence looks totally off the pace (as does Whelan). St Ledger has played well and Doyle is winning most of his flick ons.
happy enough so far. Bizzarely I'm even happier we didn't score too early as I'm worried we'd seize up as we did too often in the last campaign.
" I wish to God that someone would be able to block out the voices in my head for five minutes, the voices that scream, over and over again: "Why do they come to me to die?"
Take off Green and bring on Fahey. Whelan hasn't been much better.
"We lost because we didn't win"- Ronaldo
Not a bad shout trap. Green looks a bit lost.
He had a five yard start on the winger and was beaten to a long ball over the top. And then was nearly beaten by a neat one-two which he stuck out for a corner. Comfortable, so far, but the guy's definitely got the pace to take him. It's a worry and I think he's preoccupied - he doesn't seem to be pushing as far up the flank as O'Shea on the opposite side.
Ou-est le Centre George Pompidou?
I think Fahey will come on, just because I saw trap talking intently with him during the first half about what looked like tactics. One or two are getting tired out there. I think the same should happen to the Armenians though
