Oranmore 3 -3 Westport (Oranmore win 3-2 on pens)
Ballinasloe 3-2 Carbury AET
CJC Semi Final Result:
Athenry 2-1 Oranmore
Athenry came through the semi final with a hard fought win over oranmore. Oranmore took the lead midway during first half , Athenry upped the pace for 20mins and replied with a Header by Emmet Byrne from a corner and a well took goal from Seamie Crowe. Athenry took the foot off the gas in the second half and held out for another final appearance, Oranmore also had a dubious penalty awarded by the notorious ref (vry suprised he was allowed ref a Connacht Cup Semi) 2 mins from time, but this was well saved by kieran kilkelly.
Anyone know where the final is supposed to be held or will it be decided after the B,Sloe vs Hibs game is played next weekend?
terryland again im sure..
Ive been reliably told all the Connacht Cup and Shield Finals, Underage and Junior will be played weekend of April 30th and May 1st in Athlone Towns Willow Park.
As this years final is going to be an all Co Galway affair would it not be wiser to hold final in Galway.
I got an email about the Cup and Shield finals for the underage, they are in Athlone on Sat 30th April/Sun 1st May:
Sat 12pm U-12 Shield St Josephs v Swinford
Sat 1pm U-16 Cup _________ v ________
Sat 2.30 U-14 Shield Merville v ___________
Sat 4pm U-18 Shield Barna v East
Sun 12pm U-12 Cup Salthill v Barna
Sun 1pm U-14 Cup Castlebar v Manulla
Sun 2.30 U-16 Shield Renmore v Corrib Celtic
Sun 4pm U-18 Cup Mervue v Salthill
Cant imagine they'd play 2 junior finals at the same venue on the same weekend as all those games

Sorry, I was wrong on this. Waiting Semi results in cup before it will be finalised. Lecarrow or Terryland the most likely

Would any team be interested in coming to Cork playing a tournament on August bank Holiday weekend being run as part of SpóirtFest 2011 in Cork over the August Bank Holiday Weekend. Give us a shout if you are interested.

Why is the Connacht Junior Cup Final being held in rural County Roscommon (Lecarrow) which is 78 km. from Ballinasloe and 74 km. from Athenry, yet the competing clubs are only 46 km. from each other? Just because Ballinasloe (situated in County Galway) choose to play in the Roscommon League rather than their own county league shouldn't mean that two Galway teams have to travel to Roscommon where locals will have little or no interest in the game. Daft decision (not for the first time).
Where would you like it to be played? in the big City in Terryland. Sure why not play it in Loughrea! Ballinasloe have always played in the Roscommon League. It makes sense geographically, so they don't have to travel distances every second week to matches. Plus its none of your business what league they play in. Terryland has had its fair share of finals over the years. Its the Connaucht Cup not the Galway Cup, so every County is entitled to a fair share of final venues. Roscommon is well over due a final, so its not a daft decision. The Roscommon locals as you call them have an interest in the game. There will be a big crowd at the match. I hope you enjoy your day out in rural Roscommon!!! Bring change for the toll bridge.
the shield final between Ballina Utd and Coolera Rovers is also supposed to be played the same day at the same venue
