[QUOTE=carnstien] I can guarentee you that Kilbane, Breen and Holland would all be playing for England if they were good enough.

Oh can yer now, Holland yea that little sing song before Ipswich's play off about the head of the biggest parasite family in the UK proved the fact that if the tan's came in for him he would have gone for them, but Kevin Kilbane and Gary Breen both knocked them back when they tried to get them for their underage team's, both of them made it clear that they were Irish at a very young age, suppose you can guarentee that all us secound generation Irish fan's would rather go and watch the tan's and Ireland is just a secound choice for us because none of us are any good at smashing up people's city's.

C'mon Sylvo. After that visit to the 12 Pins in Finsbury Park, I know there are number who have 'opted' for Ireland as perfectly capable of smashing up bars as any Tans.

That doesn't prove anything other than the fact that Matt Holland considers himself half-English. Which he is. So what? Colin Healy and Ian Harte (to name just two) are always, always, always too busy trying to look moody before a match to sing our anthem. Does that make them any less Irish? No, it just makes them lazy and/or superficial. Instead it falls to English born players like Kevin Kilbane and David Connolly to give it some volume.

Bud not worried really about who's been singing what anthem, just not having people having a dig about secound generation Irish people like Breen and Kilbane playing for Ireland as a secound choice, and wanting to play for a team as their first choice that has'nt beaten us in 19 year's.

I agree 100% with you about Kilbane and Breen. Ditto for Phil Babb while we're at it. But where I disagree with you is on your criticism of Matt Holland, who considers himself to be half-Irish and half-English. There's a perfectly good reason for this. He is half-Irish and half-English. So why shouldn't he sing the English national anthem???

I wouldn't personally because it has nothing to do with me but Matt Holland has an English parent. End of story for me.

If we had a half Spanish, Italian, etc player playing for us who sang their other national anthem it would not be an issue. Not conviced Ireland was ever Holland's first choice(he's certainly no Breen or KK) but don't have an issue with anthem incident.

Well, he always gives plenty of effort in wearing the shirt, so I'll forgive him for that. in saying that, we don't want to be a team of last resort for those dual- or even treble-qualified. And there's no reason we should be.

    Mine too.

The incident where he started kissing the crest after scoring was hilarious though. He's the only current member of our squad that I don't think should be there.

No bother Davy. We lost 2-1 at Wembley on 26 March 1985. Liam Brady scored for us, Trevor Steven and Gary Lineker for them.

Too right PP. Me & Lopez are watching live from the 'drink bar' in old town Warsaw and Lopez - who's forgotten his password - is itching to cyber rumble. Two of us are banjaksed with tiredness and effects of these fine Polish ales we've been forced to consume. Speak to y'all tomorrow after our early morning f uck off flight. Back to our Zywiec. Talk to yer 2morrow hoss.
