    Carrick Utd 2 Dungarvan 1
Hard earned win for Carrick Utd in Tom Drohan Park last evening. It was looking a bit like MJC final for a while - dominating without scoring - but a powerful finish from 'Nipper' settled the nerves.
Next Sunday, away to Johnville, is one to look forward to.
Do Tramore play Crystal next Sunday also?

wonder will Johnville have grass cut for this sunday . I remember Tramore kicked up a storm when they played at johnville as grass was uncut and unplayable in Tramoes opinion . Hope Ref has balls to deem pitch unplayable if J`ville pull same stroke .

Very good performance from Carrick today in Waterford. Two cracking goals from McSharry and one well finished by Glen Keane.
Even though there's only a point needed on Wednesday they will be going all out to win.

Good result from Carrick, good performance after the dissappointment of the Munster final. McSharry finishing strongly. Good to see skinny back on the score sheet again!

Mcsharry should be playing at a higher level but hopefully no one comes in for him. on another note best of luck to Alan Coady with his emigration to austrailia, a big loss to the squad and club, since he signed from Clonmel Town he has given his all to the carrick cause.

All systems go for tonight in what promises to be a tough encounter.
Carrick should be well prepared and have shown great resilience in the league following the away defeat to Tramore in the league, their first in almost two years.

    Carrick United League Champions 2010/2011

Carrick 3 Villa 0 Alan Ryan Pen Adam McSharry Eoghan Burke

Comprehensze victory in the end even doh Villa had pen saved by Adrain Walsh and Carrick had Wayne Fitzgerald sent off for dissent at 1 nil. Adam McSharry scored a wonder goal from a 40 yard free kick and he is appartently leaving for Waterford United after the Cork City game sunday he will be a huge loss to the club and we wish him the best in his future endevaours. A poor enough game that was flat for long periods but in truth Carrick never looked worried by a Villa team that tried hard.

CONGRATULATIONS to Squad and Management and securing Carrick's 9th ever Waterdford and District Premier League Title, ye are a credit to the Club and Town.

A fantastic achievement for Carrick United, again. Well done to Brian Barry and all the backroom team and just reward for their efforts. Thanks to the players for the thrills and spills of another entertaining season in which their approach was to always to play neat and attractive football.
Best of luck in the Munster Senior Cup semi-final against Cork City on Sunday in Bishopstown.

Cork City 0 Carrick United 1

Cork City have crashed out of the Munster Senior Cup after a semi-final defeat at the hands of Carrick United.
Carrick’s Glen Keane scored the only goal of the game in the first half. Even with the majority of the starting eleven made up of first teamers, Tommy Dunne’s men couldn’t break down the United rear-guard.
Dunne handed starts to Rory Morrissey, Kieran Kenneally and Simon Holland while the rest of the line-up featured many familiar faces.
The first half lacked any real goalmouth action, City dominated possession against the junior opposition as expected, but didn’t have any clear sight of goal. Keane’s goal however was a delightful effort, he struck the ball from 30 yards out and it ball looped over James McCarthy and into the bottom corner.
City rarely threatened, other than a free kick from Gearóid Morrissey that went over, and a shot from inside the box by Danny Murphy that goalkeeper Adrian Walsh parried away for a corner.
The second half was all City, and again the Leesiders controlled the game. Morrissey was particularly influential in midfield, and even hit the post midway through the second half with a left footed curler from the edge of the box. Graham Cummins and Davin O’Neill were introduced in an effort to bring the game to extra-time, the latter creating City’s best chance to equaliser. O’Neill crossed from the left, and youngster Simon Holland couldn’t connect properly with his header and the ball drifted agonisingly wide.
Carrick deployed all the usual tactics to maintain their slender lead, and their travelling support erupted when referee Graham Kelly blew the final whistle, sending them into the final.
    Cork City
    Starting Line-Up: McCarthy, Mulcahy, O’Halloran, Turner, D.Murphy, Kiely, G.Morrissey, Holland, R.Morrissey, Kenneally.
Substitutions: Cummins for Kenneally (65mins), O’Neill for R.Morrissey (65mins), Spillane for Holland (67mins).Subs not used: Horgan, Krzanowski.
